yeah....caught this.....the "alledged victim" has been an "avid" smoker for fifty years......do you think the last 50 years of smoking analog cigs had something to do with this? Well, duh!

I don't remember where I saw this , or if someone told me this. I do remember that it said if you quit smoking you may have health problems show up to 6 months after quitting..... I don't think the e cig did anything to him

Empathy?

Some dude smokes cigarettes for 50 years, gets cancer and now wants to have the FDA Ban e-cigarettes so I can't use them.

Sorry. I'll save what little Empathy I have left for someone a bit more deserving.

+1 Agreed. I am very tired of all the stupid anti crap being focused on ecigs. Since it's the FDA that is the primary source of the deliberate stupid, I would say this woman is the victim of second-hand stupid, with the stupids signing the petition victims of third-hand stupid.

@jordonm41: I have heard this before too. Like the withdrawals are so deep into your biology that the thread your health was hanging on while smoking is now broken. Don't know of any studies on this, but it does seem to be in the general lore.

...

Don't get me wrong.

I hate to hear that anyone gets cancer and that the sand is running out of the hour glass. But someone who smoked for 50 fricking years knew the risk.

What pisses me off is that Cigarettes are Known to be a Serious Health Risk. Period. End of Report. But I don't see our government, who just Loves to stick their noses into our business, talking about banning cigarettes.

Why?

Because those same government officials who think it is their job to "protect" us from ALLl the evils of the world get Big Fat suitcases full of money from the tobacco Companies for their re-elections. And the government itself, Fed-State-Local, taxes the hell out of cigarettes.

Ever heard of the government banning something that they get a tax from?

Not exactly, but more like a 180... How about leaving something illegal and demonized that COULD be taxed out the WAZOO and open up funding for all sort of other things they can blow said money on...

"$20k for a hammer, $110k for a toilet seat"
