Hairball - SO CUTE! what are mitten paws? My daughter wants an orange kitten, I love the long haired one.

They actually have an extra toe. Maxie has them on all four while Mia only has them on the front. They resemble actual hands. It's a blast to watch Mia try to catch a fly. She doesn't swat at them like a regular cat. She has the ability to grab them and make a fist.

We have a male rat terrier that went up a tree after a squirrel once. My husband's dog Rex. He wound up on a branch just out of your reach. We tried calling him to jump but he wouldn't do it. Husband went to get a ladder, that's when Rex decided to jump. He yelped when he hit the ground, I rushed him to the vet but everything turned out okay...nothing broke...the landing just knocked the wind out of him. He was up about 20ft from the ground.

SweetPuff...welcome from one Schnauzie Momma to another! What a great looking crew! I'm down to one now..my Boone passed away Oct 15th last year from cancer. He was my Service Dog, also, and I miss him so much...his little sis is trying her best to "fill his vest" and has passed her certs, but she still isn't picking up on my seizures or spasms. Maybe if I fall on her enough times, she'll put two and two together. Boone could sense them and would paw at me to sit down before I fell.

Hi MissKitty, great to meet another Shnauzie Momma! Aww, reading your post gave me goosebumps.

So sorry to hear about Boone, they really do take over our hearts don't they? It's so good to hear how much Boone helped you, and am sure his sis will pick up on his talents soon. They're smart cookies. Our oldest is an insulin dependent diabetic, going strong at 13 yrs old, but has had a few scares where we almost lost him, but thankfully, he's pulled through. Our second oldest is 12 now...besides her bladder stones that had to be removed, she's doing really well thanks to our great vet. Then there's the baby boy doogie, he's just a ball of fluff and mischief :)...I'm pretty sure he's brought new life to the two oldies :)...if nothing else he keeps them active (and annoyed) all day, lol.

Enjoy your fur baby, and be well :)

Wish you all the best

Welcome Sweet Puff! Cute babies!

MissKitty, - your story had me in tears - what a good girl trying, sounds like it's a big "vest" to fill. I find service dogs amazing. Esp. the ones like Boone with the sensing. I live near Southeastern Guide Dogs, what an incredible place. They let you come in for puppy petting days, used to take my daughter, so fun!

hairball - glad he wasn't hurt, but I did lol at the story. I know those terriers can be hard headed!

MK - is that puppy vaping?
Yes I can't wait to play around on Pb, cool stuff. She had so much fun that day. I took her to the vet (in our old town 45 min away) and decided to take her to her old stomping grounds (from years ago). She acted like a pup again!

Thanks for the welcome Mary Kay, Classwife and atchungbaby :) Nice world it is!

atchung, your Sophie is so beautiful, her auburn coat is gorgeous. I think I just may take her pic to the salon and ask for that color...hehehe

I love this thread and seeing everyone's fur babies! We adopted Rusty Carrot from the pound on February 5, 2009, the same day of President Obama's Inauguration. We saw some really adorable pups, but the one that my eldest was eying was not available until after the weekend. My youngest kept going back to this little, scroungy rugrat. He had a bunch of bald spots, and was recovering from being hit by a car. And the entire time we were there, he was sleeping. But my youngest was convinced that he was the right one, so we took him home with us. He is just the sweetest little guy, and loves to cuddle.

sudsen, that's such a sweet story about Rusty Carrot (luv that name!). he's a cutey and looks very loved...sounds like your little one knew just who to pick...then again, maybe he picked your little one :).

I'm pretty convinced our dogs picked us, even though we think we picked them.
