Along with it all my heart is doing flip flops all over the place once again which is VERY disappointing.

For the record, my heart began palpitations shortly after I started vaping 4 months ago. I vape primarily 70% PG, 30% VG.

Yes, very disappointing - but more accurately, very annoying.

JW50, I'm thinking about maybe trying the nicorette gum.
I would like to find an alternative yes, but cold turkey at this stage I think would be setting myself up for failure.
I never intended to quit smoking when I started vaping. Thought I could substitute some cigarettes but as it turned out I found I could give them up completely.

Kilowatts, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you can work out why you're getting palpitations. Yes it is VERY annoying.

Trying the gum seems reasonable. Still wondering if some of the adverse reactions to VG, then PG and then VG/PG mixes might not have been from the withdrawal from cigs and that adverse reactions might self correct with perseverance. But trying the gum while avoiding cigs, VG and PG should give better insight as to cause of adverse reactions. Please let us know if avoidance of PG and VG fixed problem.

Hi @Tracy68, I have been following you for awhile now. Best of luck to you. I hope the VG works for me. I have quit vaping altogether at this point. The rash is all but gone, thats good enough reason to stay away from the PG cartos. By the time my VG juice gets here, I might just not need it after all. It is 0! lol I hope you do ok with this!

About heart palpitations. I got those when I was taking in too much nicotine for my body while vaping. It was a scary thing. And freaky freaky dreams, restless sleeps as well.

I have been following your thread and just wanted to add some input here if it helps. I have been doing quite a bit of research since I have been vaping and first and foremost I would be really leery of using PEG I have been reading some really negative things about this stuff including lung problems. I know for a fact lots of people do have reactions to both PG and the VG Fortunatley I have had no problems but my ex hd some bad reactions to the vg. He is now using 80 pg 20 vg with no side effects now. I would try using that or a 70 30 pg vg mixture or maybe 80 20. I know also that some flavorings will cause people to have allerigic reactions depending on what the flavorings are so I would look into that to see if maybe that is thecause. Also it takes a long time for the analogs to fully get out of your system so that maybe adding to the problem. I know that drinking water is a drag. I hate it to as I have never been a water drinker but I am forcing myself to becuase there is no way I will ever touch another analog so keep up with the water and drink lots of ot. I hope this helps and I definaately hope you find a solution. Another thought would be to check with your family doctor and tell him or her what your problems are and see if they have a suggestion as to what the problem might be and see if it might be associated with vaping or it might be another problem entirely Best of luck to you

Not advocating PEG. Really know little about it. But, here is a link to some information on it (and VG and PG) in the ECF library. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/177551-pg-vg-peg.html Inhalers, if available in your country, might be something else to consider. With those available here in US, no PG, VG or PEG involved. Here in US, prescription only though.

Thanks so much everyone. I really appreciate the support and suggestions and the "ears"
I hit a real low last night and was almost ready to just quit vaping and start smoking again.
Just as one section of my tongue had cleared up suddenly the sides of my tongue starting hurting to the point that I was trying everything in my mouth to stop the pain.
I'm now vaping 10 mg of nic so why is my tongue still getting irritated?
Surely this constant irritation can't be good. I know vaping isn't supposed to cause cancer but I'm getting really paranoid about the possibility of irritants to the mouth causing some kind of change in cells that "might" pre empt come sort of cancer.

Anyway..... Look, to be honest for the past two nights since vaping 70/30 PG/VG I HAVE noticed an improvement in the shortness of breath thing. When I get into bed I'm not feeling like my breathing and heart beat is faster than normal and strangely enough for the past two nights I haven't had any flip flopping/funny heart beat things.
So far there's not been any significant face flushing either (touch wood!)

I just need my damn tongue to behave itself and then I'll be good to keep going.
(It's because of this that I wonder whether any other sort of oral nicotine replacement might also cause irritation in my mouth.)

The best thing for me is to continue to wean myself down with the nicotine.
I think that habit will be easier to break than the actual hand to mouth thing.
I can't see myself as being a successful long term vaper . My stupid body is just not coming to the party.
Who knows, as someone suggested maybe this just "might" still be all part of withdrawals?
I don't know. That gives me a tiny spark of hope though.

Good idea Anima. I might just look at that idea of the patch and 0 nic.
I have a feeling though that it might be a combination of the drying effects of PG and the nic causing the irritation.
I don't use mouthwash as a rule. In desperation I've used a throat gargle a few times for my mouth - has some sort of numbing medication in it - usually used for sore throats.
The roof of my mouth suddenly felt like I'd burnt it the other day so I don't know whether it was from the throat gargle stuff or vaping.

Today, in a moment of madness I ripped off a cigarette filter and stuffed it into the mouthpiece of my PV.
Yeah...I'm a crazy woman! lol!
I just thought....well, maybe a filter of some sort might stop the mouth irritation if it IS the nicotine?

Tracy, are you still here? If so.... I think I found the answer! :)

I've been researching all over the place, (trying to understand why I feel so horrible after quitting cigs. Everyone kept asking me - "don't you feel great?" NO!) and finally discovered that analogs reduce and hide the symptoms of Celiac Disease. (Gluten Intolerance) About 3 or 4 weeks after becoming analog free, those VERY uncomfortable symptoms begin. Apparently 1 out of 100 people have it, but don't know until they quit smoking. Who knew? ;)

So as of tomorrow morning (had wheat toast for breakfast this morning - d'oh) I am becoming gluten free. Please try it. Maybe that's why we've been feeling so horrible!

Hi Tracy, yes - I haven't felt "normal" since about 3 weeks after I gave up the ciggies. Everything from tummy issues, itching, bruising, etc. I never has those problems as a smoker, that's why I assumed it was the e-cigs. But after I tried every combination of PG/VG without relief, that's when I became my own little health detective! The most intereresting article I found was research by the Mayo Clinic, where they confirm that smoking cigarettes counteracts the symptoms of a gluten intolerance. (perhaps all the chemicals in cigs, kill the gluten first?) Anyway, I thought I'd mention it, since some of your symptoms (itching, rash, mouth and tongue problems) are related to gluten. Just a thought! Good luck!

It strikes me as ironic that smoking seems to "mask" or keep at bay so many different ailments.
I suppose though eventually they would manifest themselves.
Of course they would.
After all smoking WAS so terribly bad for us.......even though some of us might feel so Godawful when we give up? lol!
I'm hanging onto the hope that magically after the three month mark I will suddenly feel wonderful.

I don't think the gluten is my problem to be honest but I sure hope it's something you can work with now to get yourself feeling better!
