I see a comment on youtube.. left seven months ago..

Let's see how much real "concern" the FDA has for PVs (personal vaporizers) once Phillip Morris and R.J. Reynolds get into the act. I hear the former is already negotiating with Ruyan Corporation (the Chinese inventor and first distributor of the "e-cigarette") for marketing rights. The writing is on the wall, and the future is in "personal vaping devices". Once Phillip Morris, R.J. Reynolds, etc. get into the act, and the Fed starts regulating e cigs, the FDA will start looking the other way

That John McCain cellphone of a vaping device looks like a science-fair project. That's gonna make all those resistant to the idea, you know, really want to switch.

Too little a little too late. I know it was from 2007, but come on... They're never getting another penny from me, anyway..

That's the thing isn't it?

Big tobacco knew what they were doing to us, and never tried to stop. The Chinese manufacturers have always openly labelled.

I hate to say it... but +1 to the Chinese.

That thing looks like one of those big ... cell phones from back in the day.Like the one from Night at the Roxbury!Don't forget your phones boys!!

Hey, why not make it big and ugly? then people will not want to use one, who would want to make the switch and be seen walking around sucking on a box?

plus that would justify the $200+ price tag that they expect you to pay for the privilege of kicking the tobacco habit.

Also makes me wonder if it is along the lines of the auto industry. You know how the costs of vehicles get raised significantly because of ll the safety features the feds require? Maybe the FDA and other "governing bodies" want all kinds of safety measurements built in for "our safety" which requires this design. Or maybe this is just the muscle car of pv's? Currently we are all using Honda and Nissan pv's, but this is the SUV version.

This doesn't mean less regulation and more choices. Large corporations often lobby for and encourage a regulatory morass within their own industries, because it squeezes out the little guys and keeps innovative start-up companies from succeeding and threatening their market share. HumongoCorp knows it has deep pockets and the army of lawyers and accountants needed to deal with that mess, but the other guys don't.

That thing looks like it still uses a real cigarette instead of the liquid we use, so you're still locked in to buying analogs along with that clunky contraption. :nah:

Vape on, folks...

Thumbs down to be sure, but it said something about "special" cigarettes to be used with it. Maybe they're referring to cigarette shaped metal cartridges? Dunno. I don't really have any good sources of info on the product. I know I wouldn't trust anything that comes from phillip morris these days.

Also...big and pointless? sounds like an suv :D Nobody buys an SUV to take 7 kids 4wheelin. ;)

That thing is just a bunch of foolishness,
First thought.. the government and the tobacco companies got together and designed the most ridiculous joke imaginable.. Like they're working together against vaping.

Ruyan stock is trading at just 3 cents a share, down from over 20 cents just a few months ago. And the volume has been heavy on the decline.

The high was $1.50 in 2007, so the stock is worth 1/500 of what it was worth in 2007.
Also, the company is losing money.

Doesn't seem like any big tobacco companies are throwing wads of cash their way !

While that thing is .... ugly I had to laugh at the following statement;

The lifetime anti-smoking guru Professor Simon Chapman was quoted in June 2007 as saying:
"People aren't going to want to carry an apparatus around with them – it is like hanging a sign round their neck saying ‘I'm an addict.' This is just today's publicity from Phillip Morris".

They don't know ecig users too well, look at all the mods we happily carry around with us lol

Honestly even if BT just released their own brand(s) of e-liquid they could really be on to something. If smokers started seeing Marlboro or Camel dropper bottles at the gas station next to the packs of analogues, I am sure mainstreaming of the PV would be quick to follow...

I know that the taxation would probably make a 5ml bottle of their juice like $20 or something, but the FDA would be screwed if BT got on the vaping bandwagon

Just a random "I'm up past my bedtime" thought :)
