For instance Moorea's first sentence (forgive my example)

"Susie and Johnny sitting in a tree."

then everyone gets to finish the sentence.

The random sentence winner of the days sentence will be the next days first sentence.

"they were Kiss - i - n - g."

just happened to be the random winnier of the day so the next days sentence "they were Kiss - i - n - g" so everyone would adlib on that and another winner would be chosen for that days winner ......

If you limit the amount of entries one can make, you can always have us number them. and when a random is picked and it chooses a post thats not an entry you can choose another random till you get one. I'm just firm believer in limiting the number of submissions, ECF takes up too much of my life as it is...

Going on that concept, the posts do not even need to be placed on line. Like the mad libs, they can be submitted via form to my email, then when we pick the daily winner I can post that sentence on line...

It's more fun when we can all see everyones submission on the forum though..

Yes, but if we need to limit posts do to the 1,000 post contest limit we can accomplish both. You guys can submit them via form on the site and or email, and then I can use one post to post what everyone submitted! Just brain storming.

That is why we went with random the last contest BUT on the hander if you go random on a creative contest, there is really no reason to get creative, so those that really to get creative are kind of wasting there time. [/SIZE][/B]

I don't think being creative in a random.org contest would be wasting our time. I for one would enjoy it and I really love to read others posts that are creative.
It's sure a lot more fun and interesting than a "guess the number" or other similar contests.

I agree, but if we went with a banner idea or a poem idea, I guess what I was saying is if it picks the one person who didn't try at all because it was a random winner that would kind of take away from those who did try at least IMHO!

That being said I have not ruled anything out yet, just sharing my thoughts. And I am obviously not totally against subjective contests, as this one the winner will be totally subjective, and I hope no one minds me picking the contest I like best!

My Contest Suggestion

Ever play 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon?
I was thinking of something similar using movie couples to do it. Post the name of the movie, the names of the couple's characters and the names of the actors who played them. The next poster would use one component of those 3 things in their post. It could be a word in the title (an actual word, not "and", "the", "a", etc.), one of the character's names, or one of the actors in another film. The first name of the character in post one could be the first name of the actor in post 2.
Say poster #1 posts something like :
Titanic
Jack & Rose
Leonardo Dicaprio & Kate Winslet

Poster #2 could name:
Serendipity
Jonthan & Sara
John Cusack & Kate Beckinsale
or
Scream
Stuart & Tatum
Matthew Lillard & Rose McGowan
or
Romeo & Juliet
Romeo & Juliet (obviously)
Leonardo Dicaprio & Claire Danes
or
Clash of the Titans
Perseus & Andromeda
Harry Hamlin & Judi Bowker (yup, had to look her name up)

Rules are that the post must have some similarity to the post before it and the poster should bold (or underline or throw quotes around) the connection, and it must name a movie couple. It wouldn't have to necessarily be a romantic movie just so long as it has a romantically linked couple (Jake & Elwood Blues would not be considered a couple). Let people post once every 4 hours or so, end the thread at 1000 posts or on Valentine's Day whichever comes first. Use random.org to pick the winner.

My contest suggestion: The Bump Game

1. 1000 posts

2. Pick a number from 1 to 50 (or use whatever range you want).

3. If you pick a number that has already been picked you are "bumping out" the previous person that picked that number. The last person to pick a number owns it.

4. You may pick another number if you have been "bumped out". You may not pick the same number that you were bumped from. You may only own 1 number at any given time, so you may only pick again if you have been bumped.

5. After 1000 posts, a random winning number from 1 to 50 is is chosen.

6. You may only post to pick a number. No chat is allowed in the thread without a number pick in the same post. But there will be plenty of opportunity to chat because you will get bumped and need to pick another number. But no one will be able to dominate the thread with useless chit-chat. You may mention who you are bumping, but you do not have to. Good humorous taunting is encouraged while bumping, but a quiet little bump may be to your advantage. ;)

So: PersonA picks 22. (PersonB picks 44.) PersonC picks 22.
PersonA has been bumped and may pick another number, but may not pick 22. PersonC currently owns 22.
The owner of each number from 1 to 50 is the last person to pick that number at the end of the game (after 1000 posts).
The 50 final owners are in the random number drawing.

It won't be over in ten minutes because you only post when you've been bumped.
It won't take hours and hours, or days and days either. It should be fast and exhilarating.
You don't need extraordinary creative powers, but tactical thought may help.
Chaotically competitive. :)
Too confusing?

My Contest Suggestion
, Most daring vape

Basically post the most unlikely or unusual place you have snuck a vape . Of course there would have to be a don't go out and get yourself into trouble to win rule ;) .Random pick the winner , maybe members rate your answer on a scale 1 - 5 ( 5 best ) or could just go with the most likes per answer - IDK.

Well we could always take a vote on the entries you like the best to decide on the winner. That way it wouldn't be so random and those that make the most effort would increase their chance to win. Long time members and newcomers alike would have a fairer shot at it.

But I've always thought the contest host should choose the winner/best entry..after all they are the one running the contests and giving away the prizes.

I don't know, just a thought...kicking around some ideas here.
