You'll notice a drop in flavor when it starts to dry out. For me this is usually about 2~3 tokes before the wick will burn. I've noticed I can get a decent vape with a nearly dry wick, but its running a fine line between working and burnt. I've come to realize I like a big coil around a fat, loose wick that pretty soaked. I love that snap-crackle-pop I get with this combo. In other words, I'm running my wicks pretty wet these days.
I'm the same way hildicat. Even made some 4 ohm coils just for the sheer surface area and they worked great.
I have a handul of clones on the way and I'm looking forward to thier arival. I've been a cartomizer only guy since the beginning. I have 2 ViVi Nova's that if rebuilt just about every known way with mixed results. Best results with cotton yarn but still not as satisfying as a Boge.
Anyone tried a vertical SS wick with cotton in the drip well as a filler material?
I tried it but couldn't get it to work for fear of melting the silicon around the posts. I don't think I oxidized it properly either, might try the rolling paper trick next time. I'm sure it can work, I just haven't been successful with it yet.
