I ordered a Phoenix V5 detachable atomizer from fasttech, the 510 threading was messed up and would not screw on any of my PV's. I also ordered a Phoenix Nimbus. I can't figure out why I can't get much vapor out of the nimbus. It came with a dual coil and 1 ohm dual coil. Could not get much vapor, so I recoiled it with some 3mm silica, just did a single coil. It is 2.0 ohm running at 4.5 volts and I still can't get much vapor. I have played with the air adjustment. I am kind of stumped. What could be causing this thing from clouding up? I mean heat on the coil it should vaporize and make smoke. It just doesn't produce much vapor. I have the same setup on a igo-l. Same juice and same resistance coil, same wick also and it produces clouds of vapor.

THanks
John

is this the nimbus with the air control ring up top?
this thing?
$5.55 Phoenix NIMBUS2 Detachable Dripping Atomizer - 1.0

this thing sucks if its this one the airholes are about 8 mm above the wicks.

if its not this one please post a link as they have so many versions now.

anyways in rba's especially drippers, it is very important the airflow is coming in on the wick/coil area. if it is not blowing on the coil it will not produce a lot of vapor. i had this with the igo until i made the coils lower so the airhole is hitting it directly. and with the v5 i had to make slightly extended legs as the coil is a mile away from the airhole it seems lol

Okay. I have both the v5 and nimbus clone from fasttech.
The nimbus clone has 2 air holes with the adjustment ring. It sucks. Very little vapor. The airholes are WAY to high above the coil. I think that's why the vapor production is so low.

Now, the V5. I got the one with the 3 airholes. WAY to airy. I blocked one of the holes and its better. More vapor production then the nimbus clone but I'm still not impressed.

I've chalked it up to them being cheaply made.
It is fasttech afterall.
