Yes Smartvapes I assume it's a clone because it was about $8.50? And some sites they were about $12.00. I figured if it was wreck able I'd be the one to do it so I went with cheap

Well. It's all kinda weird to me! Hmmmm so I just put the Phoenix on my little battery ( pretty fresh batteries for sure) powered black plastic box ohm reader and now it started at 7.00 ish and went down to 4.55ohm and stayed then i took it off and put it back on and it went down some more 3.5ohm. Now when I take it off and put it on it stays about the 3. Something below 3.5 range. If that all means anything. Yes the batteries in the reader are new enough. So, now I know why there are all those posts making it seem so difficult. I'm just going to keep using it on my little vv mini, which is that pulse type....I don't know what Vamo is. I read the battery in Vamoit once with a carto( the Passthrough battery reader clear) and it didn't read it because those don't read the pulsing type it shows a bunch of read dots moving in a row. Should have happened to somebody smart in electronics and probably has

Mine did that out of the box too. The coil has some shorting going on I think, and isn't perfect out of the box. I adjusted mine a little, and got it to sit at 3.0 ohms. Then after a while it jumped around again. Its the coil, not the Vamo that is the issue. Best to build a new coil.

Yeah. I liked your post because its ot my Vamo but I don't wanna build a new coil! The one it came with might be the only thing that I get out of my little purchase. I'm gonna keep using it on my mini vv ego, of which I have two and see f it doesn't just straighten itself out. Like maybe when it gets a little burnd gunk on the coils, broken in? We will see. ANYWAY. I bought some premades at the same time. So I'll wait it out. The premades might do the same thing. It's an experiment to see what happens now.

I had a very similar problem when I first got mine. You need to make sure the center pin is exposed enough to make contact with the positive connection on the vamo. Take a small nail or the small screwdriver you use to rebuild it and press on the base of the phoenix inside the well. This will move the center pin so that it is exposed more. 9.9 ohms on the vamo isn't a bad thing, just means there is no connection being made. 0.0 ohms is a different story

The price point seems right, good reviews, pyrex tank for your harsh liquids, and ooooh so much info everywhere I look. Tanks aren't the easiest to start with they take quite a bit of finesse but that is definitely the best inexpensive tank out there. I picked up a couple for $14 in a co-op. The phoenix dripping RBA is probably the easiest to start with. IMO

Well. I had purchased a pack of 3.00 ohm Pre wrapped wicks when I bought the Phoenix. I gave up on the coil and wick it came with. I put on one from the pack ( after messing up the first try, threw away) I used my tapered pointed eyebrow plucker for it all including the little screws. It got it done and it measures 3.00 and I vaped some 24 mg Carmel at 9.50 watts on Vamo. After 7 or 8 hits I was nauseated from too much nicotine. I know the signs. How can this be? is it possible for a rba to make the vapor so that the nicotine is more absorbable? But that's not the point. I'm just celebrating because I did it. Next step will of course be to wrap my own coil. I'll ring something to wrap the wire around the same diameter. The neat thing about the thin wire is it makes like a spring so if the coils are touching each other you can stretch out a section and it goes back all symmetrical. That made it easy. Of course I have to use up the last three already wrapped ones came 5 to a pack and I do want to see how long one lasts plus I have other vaping devices I switch around. Vamo did good. (. :

In my experience the RBA's do vaporize liquid at a much quicker rate, that could explain the Nic sickness.

Well, that's interesting. I've never used 3.00. It was all they had. I've used 2.5 Atties. I just never get that many hits in a row, I do on Pyrex tank and cartos ( low reserve 1.7) maybe the little extra heat distorts some nicotine? Vaping certainly is NOT a no brainier if you are someone who likes to know the whys of things!

I have the V3 and I love it, i just replaced the coil and wick for the first time (after a month of constant vaping). Easy as it looks. Feels better than when I used to curse at dead attys. Also - they are a cinch to clean. Run it under hot tap water, shake dry, dry burn and return to vaping Its the best.

I absolutely love mine, #500 stainless steel wick, triple loop of 32AWG A-1 Kanthal resistance wire (1.8-2.0Ω) upgraded O-ring, and ceramic insulators. Took a $10 RBA and made it comparable to a $60+ one.

Do you have a link to a tutorial on these upgrades? I just got my first big battery mod (SS Vamo), and it does not get along well with my phoenix clones. Intermittently, it will register either 9.9ohms or give a "lo" error. Every once-in-a-while, I can get them to work together, but it's unpredictable and never lasts long. The phoenix clones have worked very well with my twists for months. I'm guessing something is loose and sometimes not connecting while shorting other times.

The center pins seem the most likely culprits. I see that the center pin on the Vamo is not very secure, but it works fine with clearos and cartos so far. I've read about the center pin issues, but my o-ring hasn't come out yet. I also see that the center pins on the phoenix clones are somewhat recessed. I have adjusted those, but it does not resolve the issues I'm having, and they push back in when I attach them (even loosely) to the Vamo.

The no-name clearo that came with my first order works fine on the Vamo, as do Boge cartos. The AGA fires well, and I might just switch to that once I build a decent wick/coil combo (first few attempts have not gone well), but I'd really like to stick with the dripping attys if possible. Maybe the upgrades you're describing would help me.

ty, that helps a lot - didn't know you could get those. It looks like I can rebuld my vivi nova heads w/ that which is awesome. My next question then is does a spinner have any of the regulators like they mention here - Meters : 510 Voltage Indicator Rev 2 which would mean I can't use it..and do I really need a meter?

You always, ALWAYS, want to test a new coil for shorts. Otherwise you may fry your PV, and NO, your spinner does not have an ohm meter function.
