Caravela SS w/Narda, Gerber Blade, Rado Ceramica, Mini mag Xl50, and my new sequentially serialed HK P7M8 "Jubilee's"
You would have to be utterly nuts to carry those P7s -- they are serious collectors items! I have several PSPs that I shoot a lot and carry when I think a Seecamp might not be enough, but EDC those? NO!

Well, there is the rub, non? Single stack mag, the one in the pipe is as safe as those in the mag until you INTEND to let it go, AND darn near impossible to have it used against you, unless the bad guy is very familiar with rare firearms. A ship is safe in the harbor, but, that's not what ships are for. I only wear it at 5 O'Clock. ;) Both were unfired (except maybe by Pixa), and I'm keeping 178 for a Safe Queen, but 179 is my biotch.

Thanks boss!!! Yes Carbon BlackHawk holster. Was using my Sig Platinum for awhile. But didn't want to drop it on the ground if I have to use it after
I went a cheaper route and picked up a Rock Island 9mm that you see. Upgraded all the internals, trigger, mags, etc. She shoots like a champ.

Yes the grips are skeletonized and see through. Needed something else besides those VZ grips.

Took a couple days off work after working 4 90 hour weeks in a row...Went to the range for the first time with my new monogrips...75 rounds of 158 grain .357....I'm not saying it was pleasant, but the grips helped out a lot!!!

If there are any Riders in the group, I have to cough up this review.

Had to ride from NW Iowa to SE Michigan today. I knew I would be riding late into the night, and didn't have the only leather jacket I've ever had, a hand-me-down from my Bestie who gave it to me when he sold me his old '77 FLH MANY years ago. I keep it for a lot of sentimental reasons, not the least of which is it's from my Bestie, who I made the ride tonight with, but it has also been down twice, and the rashes remind me to ride like everyone is trying to kill me, because they are.

So I wandered into a Motorsports shop yesterday. I love my Harleys, but I don't feed the MoCo by buying their branded, overpriced chrome bits and HarleyWear. I really had to overcome my enthusiasm over a leather coat they had, to strike the 15% off deal I got.

The ZR ZR1 45. SUPER quality leather! Front and rear vents, action shoulders, side zips for more room, nice quilted removable liner. Would have been enough really, to sell me on the $230 coat (which gets you a hoodie at the MoCo shops). But get this. Inside breast pockets on BOTH sides, with built in holsters and mag holders. And I mean BIG. I rode it home with the P7 in one pocket, and the VP9 in the other, NO printing whatsoever, and the support runs to the shoulders so NO sag either. Warm, comfy, and LETHAL! :)

I'm beginning to be inclined to agree with you. I've been practicing my holster draw with one of these darlings, and the muzzle is already starting to show wear from the draw against the leather and Kydex, and it was killing me to see it. So today, I was "lucky" enough to score a nickel plated P7M8 (pretty rare also) on GunBroker, that I will use for EDC. It was tempting enough on its own, but it comes with a set of Karl Nill wood grips like the Jubilee. I'll post a pic when it arrives.

Just keep in mind that anything you carry on your person can impact on you when going down. I've seen broken ribs from cellphones, torn open bellies from key-chains, etc.

Also, if it isn't double stitched it probably won't protect you against a long slide. The seems will rip open and your skin gets torn off anyhoe.

Ride on :headbang:

Thank you for the insights. You must work in an Emergency room? I will bear your experience in mind when I load my pockets, sage advice. As far as the armory goes, I'm thinking a big flat piece of steel between the ground and I stands at least as good a chance of protecting me as harming me. Kind of a mixed bag.

The coat seems REALLY well built. I tend to trust the Motorsports gear much more than the Weekend Warrior gear the MoCo sells. The guys buying motorsports stuff are often much more serious about their skills, and their protection.

Depending on temp and conditions, I don't ALWAYS wear all the gear. However, both times I had to put a bike down, I WAS wearing ALL the gear, and got away both times just feeling VERY sore the next day. lol... we're just bones and meat.

Not anymore, but I did for two years. That was enough for me! lol

I'm a rider too though, motorcycles have been my passion as well as my daily transportation for almost 25 years.

I'm not familiar with either of those brands but even some of the better brands sell entry level gear that isn't double stitched, so it doesn't hurt to check in the future.

But I hear ya, I sometimes ride in jeans as well even though I should know better. Sometimes it just gets so hot that I can't think anymore and it feels safer not to wear all those layers so I can at least focus on what I'm doing (and on who is trying to hit me, lol).

I've never fell off so far luckily *knocks on wood*, but good to hear you never had any serious injuries when it happened! In the end even the best gear in the world can't protect us from everything of course.

I don't take either of these out because ones too valuable, and the other is illegal to carry in the UK. But I took the essence of the thread to be a chance to show of weaponry, so Every Day Covet if you like. The knife was hand crafted from scratch by my Dad back in 1968, inherited when he died. The blade looks disproportionately short in the shot due to the angle.

Tru, love the PP! If you have big hands, the $30 Pachmayer full wrap rubber grip is a God send! Also, having big hands, I used to get MAJOR slide bite from the serrations. Used to make me hold lower on the grip than I liked, causing the occasional "limp wrist" jam.

I fixed THAT last week, with a dremel and some 1200 to 2500 wet-or-dry paper. Put a radius on the back sides to get rid of the sharp edge. NO bite at all, and I'm gripping her high, mighty, and without hesitation now. Still have a little more polishing to do, but it's a MAJOR improvement. Even allowed me to cut away the rubber back strap to get a higher grip.

I'm going to assume that those pictures aren't of your gun since they are pictures of a PP and a PPK, two different models.

The PPK/S in the top pic, with the radius on the slide, is mine. The picture below it is a stock google images photo to show what the slide looked like before I balled it off to remove the slide bite. Did you have a question?

LOVE those Glas mods, Petro! Some day, I have to get a 357. NOTHING has the stopping and penetrating power of that monster caliber. It's GOTTA leave a mark.
