Nope. It's outside the actual safe towards the top of the console itself. I don't know if Console Vault changed the design on the actual safe or not. I purchased this one several years ago before the electronic locks came out. The USB port is about an inch above the lid for the safe.

Any change there'd be enough room/clearance plugging the module into a USB extension cable. Or perchance do you have a USB port for the back seat or anyplace else in your vehicle. My Pilot has a port on the dash in the console and 2 for the 2nd row of seats

Don't know. The cord that comes with the kit is long enough. But attempting to route this thing in a manner that doesn't interfere with opening the safe is questionable.

Aaaaand, I just realized that having the port outside of the safe is bad, very bad. I could unplug the USB cable, plug it into a battery pack and have instant access to the safe.
