Did you also get the clear spare parts? The foggy atty comes with a metal chimney. You can't see the coil. But the have a spare parts that is clear. I thought would be awesome.

You can buy the foggy top cap, tank and clear chimney as a set from FT for $5 (SKU1570900)

I've been DIYing my ... off this weekend and to round it off. I had an old laptop battery for a notebook that I no longer have so I whipped out my knife and Leatherman. And boom 9 free 18650 batteries. I haven't used them for sub-ohm vapping but they've been working fine on 1.5ohm coils and all my 18650 flashlights. I nearly chopped off a finger opening the case but it was worth it if nothing more then having a few extra/spare flashlight batteries.

Edit: I did some google searching on the info printed on the battery these turned out to be 2250mAh IMR Panasonic batteries. I may have to start searching Craig's list for old Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, etc Laptops and or laptop batteries. Especially since I've got batteries sitting in Hong Kong for over a month now from FT.

I'm very new here, so I just want to say, if you're actually serious about being able to use those batteries, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I've had an old laptop sitting in storage for about 2 years. Took me 4 minutes with a putty knife to crack it open, and here's what I found.

OK, since apparently my phone is an idiot and won't let me insert a picture, I found 6 18650 batteries. The model on them is CGR18650CE. From some research done just in the last 5 minutes, they appear to be high drain.

The big question: can I actually use these in my Vamo V5?

Also, if I can use them safely, any advice on how to get the super tiny metal pieces left over from peeling the contacts off?

you can use them safely in any VV/VW device. all laptop batteries are unprotected and thats how the vamo or other VV devices like them. in fact protected batteries don't work on a vamo. i only use salvaged batteries on my vamos and they work a treat. for my mechs however i use new batteries.

That is awesome news.

Now how do I get the little leftover pieces of metal off it so it's a smooth contact area?

so I did a voltage drop test today comparing the
Full Brass Chi You/Flat Brass Cap- Fully Charged MNKE vs.
Nemesis Mixed Matte- Fully Charged MNKE-
The Mods themselves have NO voltage drop- I got the same reading off the mod as I did off the battery...
I can now say with certainty and proof from a voltage meter/multimeter- A Full Brass Chi You/Polished Contacts and a Brass Cap/Switch Nemesis have NO inherent voltage drop- 0.00!!!
Under load- (0.28ohm) both mods performed roughly the same- about a .5 drop in voltage under load- a few points higher on the chi you... not even a tenth of a volt- which is normal considering the sub-ohm load placed on the MNKE!!
My curiosity has been satisfied as I blow plumes of Dead Man's Party....and Chill!!!

BTW- a big thank you from me to those that began providing accurate descriptions of their pics-
I was looking at an Origin clone today to get an idea of what the aqua/origin hybrid would be like- and the switch is quite different on the original.....so- those descriptions are a necessary part of vape gear IMHO
