Is that an E-Power or NoEgo?
They look the same but the circuit is regulated at a slightly different level.

Not necessarily true depending on the C ratting. Too low of mAh with a low C ratting means it will not put out enough amps to fire an atomiser well. You have to also consider how many amps the battery is capable of supplying and that is why the high drain batteries are popular for the smaller form factor batteries but aren't always necessary at the 18650 size depending on the C ratting of the battery.

My flawed understanding is that the C ratting is relative to the internal resistance of the battery and other factors in the way the cell is constructed.

This is definitely not a professional opinion but just from information from my limited research =]

Edit:
Good reason to shy away from generic or low quality batteries. That's why I use "Dangerous" Unprotected high C 18650 batteries. I just hope one of them doesn't blow up on me one day. Not a recommended practice especially in a multi battery configuration.

Well, I should state that a little more carefully. In 18650 size, you would be hard pressed to stress any battery in a PV. The C rating times the capacity is the sustainable output. AW IMR 18650 have a C rating of ~15. Cheaper 18650 batteries have a C rating of around 1.5. While this is much 'better', the size of the batteries means that both are in excess of requirements. This means that a 1600mAh AW IMR 18650 can output a sustained current of ~(1600 * 15 = 24,000mA). A Trustfire flame 18650 can output a sustained current of ~(2400 * 1.5 = 3,600mA). 3.6A exceeds the max draw of all but some crazy double barrel mods. The Provari, for example, cuts off at 2.5A. With a pair of 18650 in series, any brand would be pretty unstoppable.

The IMRs gained much deserved popularity among vapers in the smaller sizes. For example, a 14500 600mAh AW IMR with a 10C rating can output ~6A, where the *fire 800mAh with a 1C rating can only do ~0.8A. This means it won't be able to keep up with the demand you're asking of it, and since it can't output any more current, it has to drop the voltage.

Not at all knocking AW. The majority of my batteries are AW's. They're great batteries and have excellent quality control. I just like to point out that, when using the 18650, the IMR are overkill and have less than optimal longevity. The AW ICR 3100 is a monster, still an AW battery (actually, a Panasonic cell inside), and a better choice.

Hairball is right, though. They don't quite fit everything.

Now THAT is a beautiful and feminine collection! I feel like I'm getting a peek inside a Victorian woman's private sitting room! Do you paint on your mods yourself? They're beautiful!!!

C ratings are so misunderstood because it's a balancing act. To high a C rating is no better than to low for our application.
Also with many of our more modern regulated mods it becomes somewhat of a moot issue.
And, optimum C rating is altered by the capacity.

In the end, only the vaping experience can determine if the C rating is sufficient or not. A bat either satisfies your needs or it doesn't.

    It's the 18650 E-Power

    Awesome collection!

How long did it take you to collect them all and which do you like the most?

I've been vaping since 3/2010 so I've had a bit of time to pick things up.
Hard to say which I like most, they each have their purposes. (different attys & cartos on them)
The Alpha Ultra that isn't pictured is used a lot.
I also have a scubagen that Scubabatdan made that I use a lot.

Hi all, ive only been vaping for a couple of months but ive been through a few set ups, i started on a tornado tank and the moved on to some bigger ego batteries with a duel carto tank. A new carto thoughtfully shorted one of my batteries the other morning so i decided to throw together the pass through pictured below out of linen phenolic and brass, im loving vaping at 5v but im finding it nails the cartos, im only getting a few days out of them before they are clogged. Ive just ordered myself a lavatube that should be with me in a few days but im kind of at a loss as to which way to go for a tank/atty, im thinking i may make a tank that can take clearomizers.
