Ok so after reading this whole thread.....Unfortunately i either Missed it or there was no definitive answer...So what does one do for dry skin.......Vitamin D,the baby wipes,Noxzema, being in the sun more etc etc.... Not really a lot of pimple issues sometimes though i get them, but not as much as reported by other ECF member's.....Just having dry skin all the time.....Thanks in advance![]()
If you want to go with straight over the counter, pick it up at Wal-Mart type products, a gentle, soap free cleanser once a day and good moisturizer once or twice a day. Just make sure it's noncomedogenic (won't clog pores.) and/or hypo-allergenic. Again, Neutrogena Noxzema, Oil of Olay all make good products. Cetaphil is also a good brand. Kiss My Face which is also found at Wal-Mart has a good and inexpensive olive oil soap. It really takes some trial and error to find what works best for you specifically. Just don't get taken in by the expensive "miracle cures". Nine times out of ten a gentle cleaning and moisturizing does better than anything. I've got combination skin, oily on my forehead and nose, dry everywhere else, been dealing with breakouts since I was 13. After dozens of different products I finally settled on one put out by Johnson and Johnson called Purpose. (Mis-named it in my previous post.) It strips the oil while leaving the dry parts feeling normal. I haven't been using it very long, but so far so good. My moisturizer is Neutrogena Oil Free for Sensitive Skin.
One word.....sunshine.....
Our wonderful medical researchers, who find something deadly everyday, have warned everyone for years to stay out of the sun for fear of skin cancer. The result is an epidemic vitamin-D defecit.....and low emotional states. UV light does wonders on acne as well. Peel off the clothes and start worshipping the sun again.![]()
Very helpful, Storm. Thanks. And if you want proof that great minds think alike, check this out. The Rite-Aid I went to had a big sale on Noxema and O of Olay and others, which actually meant that most of those products were sold out. So I began to read the labels of the 1001 non-sale items--I just wanted a non-nonsense gentle cleanser and conditioner and would have bought any package that had them both. Simple is good.
Well, guess what I found? Two linked products that looked great to me: "Purpose", the same product brand you use. There's a partner moisturizer for the cleanser, so I bought both. Cheap, easy-to-use pumps, no smell, and great feeling, but I won't know more for a week or so. Maybe I done good? Well, I'll update soon.
OMG! I have never thought of this, I have hardly ever had breakouts even as a teen. But the past 3-4 days I have had a few problem areas. I have been using some of the VG and PG so I am wondering why a break out from vaping? Is it indeed an allergy to PG? I love my PG and don't want to leave it!
Deez I always have dry eyes so I can't say that I have noticed anything there, no difference for me, always dry.
