Oops Horton. Sorry I posted to the wrong thread. See I am interested in them both, and there is another currently going on with the Bananas Foster recipe. My mistake, dearheart. But I am definitely interested in what you come up with. I do have a half bottle of pineapple left but no PC. I have mixed my Capella's Cinnamon Danish Swirl with the Pineapple, and I like it. Capella's takes a little longer than other companies to deliver, but it's worth the wait.

I'm not using any nic sol'n yet, just my diluents in 3ml batches, until I find one that tastes right. Figured it would help keep the cost down.

Horton, I do the same thing -- no nic juice in the testing recipes. If you're doing tons of testing, you may want to do this so you still get the nic...

I keep dropper bottles full of 12mg & 24mg VG (w/PGA) without any flavorings. Then, as I test (dripping), I add a drop of unflavored nic juice periodically.

This recipe sounds intriguing. Please keep me updated!

I think I'm starting to close in on the recipe. Nothing I want to "publish" yet, still waiting on a few flavors -- hopefully they will arrive in the mail today. But, per my wife, I'm darn close with what I've cobbled together using flavors I currently have in "inventory". Geez, I"m starting to sound like a secretive research scientist. With all the flavors I've ordered recently, I think I can make just about any juice possible....lol. Soon as I have something I feel is going to cut it, I'll put up the ingredient list. Stand by...... more updates to come...... horton ---- out

Good idea, ByStander1.... Have a little nic juice handy to see what it does to the overall flavor. I have noticed in the past that it can change the flavor --- sometimes quite a bit. Now, back to the lab..... glad there is no fire associated with doing this....lol

Ha! I can't believe this! A friend of mine thinks my pineapple upside down cake is amazing and I just made one for her yesterday. As I was making it I was thinking of what I would mix to make an e-juice and here's a thread about it! Since I haven't read the whole thread I hope someone was able to replicate it. I use duncan hines supreme pineapple cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, eggs, oil, pineapples, pineapple juice, brown sugar, and marachino cherries. That's what's in the cake. Anyone have any luck with the juice?

I'm still waiting on a few "critical" flavorings to arrive, Richiepoo and then I should be able to find out how it all falls together. Doing this DIY thing is addicting. I find myself pouring over sites looking at different flavorings thinking how they might work, spending more money than I should, etc....lol. But, when it's all said and done, I hope to have a great recipe for the juice and with all the flavorings I've bought, I can move on to another project..... and probably need to buy more flavorings. But, I'm having a ball with this and really hope I can come very close to the real thing.
Did I remember to eat dinner tonight? Hmmmm.... guess I've lost track of time again.

Oh yeah!!!
... spending more money than I should...

here's something you may find helpful:

I clean my tools to stupidity sometimes. Doing that cuts down on my play time. To keep from dirtying dropper bottles, pipettes, etc for all the playing, I use paperclips for stirring and dripping to try each quick recipe. Unbending them into an "S" shape makes a great stirrer, dripper, and you still have a hook to hang it from! :)

Wonder if they have a 12 step program for DIY'ers who go overboard....lol. At least we are not doing something that is really harmful to our health..... maybe some lousy tastes here and there, but pretty innocuous.
The paperclip idea is neat. Will have to try that. I've been using flat wooden toothpicks to stir and get a drip. Have the "fat" end for stirring and the "skinny" end for a drip.

Just for snickers, here's what I've come up with so far..... not quite there, but does seem to be close to me and my wife (who is the official taste tester) says it still needs "that something". Soon as I figure out what "that something" is... I hopefully will be set...lol.
I've done this by per cent, and where tiny amounts were added, drops. BTW.... DIYFS = DIYFlavorShack, PA = Perfumers Apprentice . Here goes:

Lorann Pineapple 40%
DIYFS Pound Cake 50%
DIYFS Expert Caramel 10%
One drop PA Pecan
One drop PA Lemon
Two drops PA Vanilla (Bourbon)

Please let me know what you think. It has the tartness, but I do agree with my wife, "something" is missing -- maybe more cake???...... Back to the lab...... If you see any mushroom clouds over the Tampa area that will be me.....

Horton....it may need to steep for a bit too.....don't toss that last batch, try it again tomorrow and then the next day, and so on.....there are some mixes that just need time to brew and they taste sooooo much better....and then there are some that taste great right off the bat and after they have "aged", they become way too strong, or one flavor will really start to come out and end up overpowering the others.

Just sayin...don't toss that last recipe just yet....ya know...just in case it REALLY works in a few days or so:)

Good Luck

I'm saving each little batch in numbered bottles with the recipe taped to the bottle. I agree about letting them steep. What tastes lousy today can taste great tomorrow and the reverse also holds true. Right now I'm using 1ml batches with PG as the diluent. Gives me enough to drip but not waste a lot of flavoring.

I really appreciate your advice.... thank you very much!!!! horton

Hartville/Uniontown/Green....lol.....Just south of Akron and just north of North Canton.

Hey about that pineapple upside down cake.....I am placing an order for some DIY stuff tomorrow and was thinking about FA Pandoro...it's kinda like a lemon pound cake.....I think that might just do it. I may try adding just a tiny touch of cinnamon with either cinnamon roll or cinnamon swirl cake....

Toledo boy here..... then SE to Harvard on the Hocking aka Ohio University...lol. Just need someone from Cinn. to chime in and we will have all 4 "corners" of the state covered.

The FA Pandoro does sound interesting. Guess I sort of got it in a way by using lemon and the pound cake, but would be nice to have it all mixed together. This recipe is becoming a mission for me.
I ruined one batch by overdoing the cinnamon.... used straight FA cinnamon and WOW was it overwhelming -- only one drop. That batch did get pitched. Glad only 1ml. The size bottle I bought is probably a double lifetime supply as concentrated as it is!

Yea Cinnamon is a VERY overwhelming flavor. You could try diluting it with pg before adding, or just take that toothpick to add just a dash. Growing up my brother and I would get some cinnamon flavoring from the store and a box of flat toothpicks. Soak the picks in the cinnamon then let them dry. Gave a nice little chew on for us. We used to be able to buy them in little packs at the gas station, then we figured better to make them ourselves as we could concentrate them even more. I love cinnamon, but it will drown everything else out real quick.

Scratch that Pandoro.....I was thinking of Panettone from PureVapes....but I would venture that they have something along the lines of Pandoro with some kind of lemony citrus flavor added to get that flavor. Pandoro is more of a sweet cake....IMO it is a sweeter than Poundcake...that is in real like....will be interesting to see about the flavorings.....

I definitely will be diluting the Cinnamon in the future. Or do the toothpick trick. I did the same thing you and your brother did... soaked toothpicks. Those were the carefree days, weren't they?
Yeah..... I moved south for health reasons and find I get worse medical care down here than up north. I sure called that one wrong. Doc said a warmer climate would be better for me, so off we went without much thought about it. Now, as they say, we have sand in our boots and can't leave....lol. I just wish they did not build on every square foot of land. It's not the FL I remember as a youth. Live and learn......
