Just got my first epipe and it's a beautiful Jazz Carto Pipe. Love it! Looks super slick. But now I'm curious as to how a carto tank would taste compared to just a cartomizer. Anyone know where I can get a carto tank like this one:

Jazz Cartopipes (at bottom of the page).

Or

The Jazz Carto Tank- Tinted

Or if you know any other tanks that will allow for this great curved mouthpiece on the Jazz, please let me know. Thanks!

Curt, I saw your post over in the epipemods thread first, and responded over there. I'm not really a carto tank fan. And by the way, don't expect better flavor from a carto tank. It's really just a convenience thing, so you don't have to continually refill the carto. You may want to try one of the newer bottom coil clearomizer tanks such as the Protank 2 or Anyvape BCC. I haven't used any of those myself, to be honest, so others may be able to chime in with more/better suggestions.

Wow! Thanks for the replies. I just ordered a pack of mega Magna clearomizers. It didn't have any size descriptions, but they look like the same size/connection as the Boge XL carts. So, I guess I'll find out! Here's hoping they really did make clearomizers in the same dimensions as carts.

Agreed, Curt. They do look rather similar. Harkening back to my first month of vaping, I seem to remember them being ever-so-slightly wider than a carto. But it's definitely gonna be close, with both length and diameter.

RE: my response in the other thread-- did your Jazz come with the 510 tank extension?

Unfortunately, it didn't. But I noticed that on Romaniac's old site, jazzepipes.com, he sold a 510 to 510 40mm extension. So, if I can just find another online somewhere, and then find a tank that will allow the mouthpiece to fit... A lot of ifs, I guess.

His post here

Jazz Cartopipes

says that these mouthpieces would fit on a Vivi Nova. But I don't even know if those are still being sold at the same sizes, etc.

Right. Though that stem looks the same, the tenon is different from the original stem that fits right on the end of the pipe. Those stems (on the Jazz cartotank) were designed for use with tanks and any other device that accepts a 510 drip tip. There is no tank, as far as I know, that will accommodate the original stem. :( I've done a lot of experimenting with pipes and stems, conversions and modifications, etc., including my Jazz and both the original and tank stem. I have found no use whatsoever for the original Jazz stem aside from it's original intended purpose.

I remember stumbling across a 40mm 510 extender some time ago.... trying to remember where it was. Aha! Here - 510-510 Long Extensions

And you might try this - 510 Drip Tip Adapter for eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer - press fitted into the end of the shank as a stabilizer for the extender. Romaniac included something similar with his tank adapter kit.

There's no guarantee that either of these will be a perfect fit though. But it might be worth a shot. I will measure the 510 extension I have at home and get you some more info and pics in the eve.

Ah, totally I see. I should have realized that the stems had different ends. Was probably just taken by its curves. I'm sure EPM has stems that will fit tanks.

Anyway, thanks for checking for me. I'm finally learning to really draw on my pipe and not press the button too long. It works great. But I'm super thankful for the help. I'd love to maybe outfit it with a tank somedays. Or I might have to try another pipe with a tank now that I know I can get into all of this. Being a Peterson man, myself, I'd love to add a mycroftmilverton Peterson mod someday.

Just ordered syringes with needles, so the filling process will be a little cleaner whether I can find a tank or not.

I am looking at getting into Pipes, anyone got a recommendation of a cheaper Pipe Mod? Something that is nice looking and easy for beginners preferably using 18350 batteries as that is what I have an abundance of.

Thanks in advance guys and gals

How inexpensive are you talking?

If you're looking for a cheap, no-fuzz model that takes 18350, and you're satisfied using cartos, have a look at DSE-601C. If you want that kind of pipe(cheap auto switch), but need tanks, look for one called 618. If you can accept manual switch, look at the SMOK(not really a pipe in my personal opinion) for real cheap, or the "Beautiful King Pipe" for the classic look.

Don't the DSE-601c use proprietary products so not all of my carto tanks and other 510 attachments will fit? I've looked at the Artisan King Pipe and really like the way it looks..not a huge fan of the Smok unless I was to sand it down to just brass
