I wasn't going to post this, but I figured, what the hell we're all friends here so...

Anyhoo, last night, I'm out the front fiddling around for awhile. Little Miss P is out with her Big Daddy, so it's just me, the vicious guinea pigs and Miss Piper the killer Doberman that's afraid of her own shadow at home.

Off I go to the corner store and there's this guy hanging around outside. I come out, he says 'hi'. I say 'hi' back. Then, here he comes..following me up the street. I get closer to the house and he starts muttering something under his breath. Being the tough 5'3" chick that I AM, I asked him what he was saying.

"You're hot"

"Well, we all are, it's 98 degrees outside, right?" in my best 'chirpy' voice.

Crap.

Mental checklist..husband's not home, neighbours aren't outside, like they were 10 mins ago..crap. Again.

"You know what I mean.."

Alright Domino, get with it girl!! "Yeah, I DO. Thanks very much, my HUSBAND thinks so too.." THAT'LL SCARE 'EM YA DUMMY!!

"Is he HOME?"

Uh oh!! What's with THAT comment? He's not going to come out with THAT one right out of left field..he KNOWS he's NOT.

By this time, we're right in front of my house, so what am I going to do, continue THIS intelligent conversation in the middle of the STREET? And hey, he OBVIOUSLY knows that's my house RIGHTTHERE..so, I turn up the walkway and say, "yeah, he IS, wanna meet him or something?"

And, guess where he WAS? RIGHT BEHIND ME on the WALKWAY.

He says, "Sure."

So, I'm thinking, get in the HOUSE girl!! (I know, COULD have been a stupid move)

I open the door and PIPER just WENT for him!!!!

She's afraid of the neighbourhood SQUIRRELS Ladies!?!?!

But LAST NIGHT? She came out of that door like the Doberman 'namesake' Black DEATH.

Not a bark, NOTHING behind the door!! She KNEW what was going on!! I guess the tone of my voice or something, but not a PEEP out of her!!

Anyway, she CONNECTED too! There was a piece of jeans on the steps with blood on it. (Yes, we brushed her teeth...WELL). Of course, Brian's out scoping the neighbourhood for the guy, and the cops have a 'bulletin' out to all the hospitals that if someone comes in with a dog bite, they're to be notified.

Anyone care to guess what'll happen to him after what he did to a PARAMEDIC?

But, just wanted to say how proud (and SHOCKED) I was with Piper!! She's my hero!!

(Brian went so far as to purchase her a roast beef..she'll have it for dinner tonight..and HE'S cooking!!)

Hope this explains my abnormal absence from ECF last night..it got pretty busy around here!

:thumbs:Way to go Piper! What a good girl she is!

I don't think it's tone of voice- she picked up on your fear of this man and did what dogs do best!

We had a dalmation that would bolt every time that door was opened - and boy could he run! One day a guy comes to the door selling something - the dog was at my knee (I had his collar) and the guy asked me if he bites - he wasn't letting me close the door - I said "want to find out?"...Sparky didn't not lunge to free himself - he stood very still and emitted the lowest growl I've ever heard. (then there was the other time when the pizza delivery guy came - the door opened and the dog took off like a bat out of hell- barking over his shoulder the whole time!)

A ...... off Doberman is nothing to mess with!:D

What a wonderful dog you have, she proved to you that shes not just a cuddly teddy bear! Glad you are ok. My husband had to tell a guy to keep on walking one day (with a pipe wrench in hand) because he kept walking by our house watching my daughter and her friends. She was having a summer party and they were all in swimsuits. After that we made them all stay inside the fence. Then we put security cameras up.

Thanks guys!! Well, I wasn't on here LAST night either..know why? CAUGHT THE GUY!!!

He showed up at a PHARMACY, looking for steri-strips! Good thing the cops were pretty thorough with their 'notifications'! Knowing OUR luck, we'll end up getting sued because she bit him....

And, I had a hard time convincing Brian NOT to go down to the station to 'have a chat' with him!!

But, YAY!! WAY TO GO PIPER!!

She loved her roast beef btw..we shared a BIT of it with her, but she got most of it!!

Thanks all! I don't THINK he was stalking me, I just said 'hi' back to the wrong person. We live in a really quiet area where everyone kinda knows everyone else, (but where the hell WERE they the other night?? lol!), and I've never seen him before..I'm hoping he was just a weirdo that got the wrong idea..kinda scary to think there's a stalker around when I'm out and about with our 6 year old daughter and we're within walking distance to her school!!

How scary for you Domino, but so glad they caught him & all is good now!

Good girl Piper. Hope she enjoyed the treat :D

We have a American/English staffie X who is more likely to lick someone to death... But if someone she doesn't know comes onto our property (like the poor Aus.post guy delivering my parcels) she sounds very menacing from behind the gate. She is getting to know the AP guy pretty well now tho lol

Piper couldn't POSSIBLY be more excited when she sees the mailman!! (Or one of the neighbors, or a friend of the neighbors, or a kid walking down the street, or, the BEST is the little gray squirrel that comes by every once in a while, or, well, just about ANYONE..)

Except for HIM...
