Well it did not take me long to become sick of charging kr808 batteries:(. I ordered a mini pipe which I was totally disappointed with. The vapor production was very poor, no taste and too much air. I sent it back for a refund and decided to make my own pipe. I actually built two so that I would have a spare. They turned out AWESOME but took a lot of planning and design work. I have them using 1200 Mah batteries which are SUPERIOR. I can go all day on a battery and the 510 Bauway attys ROCK! I have been only using pipes for the last 3 weeks now and I love them. I also picked up a 510 to 808 adapter so I can use an 808 cart when I want a little different taste, works great!:p
I have photos on a web page, check them out at:

Just a couple of observations on what looks to be a great idea.
Firstly I do most of my driving at night, so would the LED placed where it is not be a bit intrusive?
And have you thought of adapting an Ego/Rive connection type to the block (Battery Holder) of the pipe. Then it could be used to connect to the larger attys and T-Tanks. Which could let you use a more 'pipe like' draw and not need to refill so often and keep the normal pipe shape at the same time?
Still a great mod - keep them coming.

Thanks for looking at them, and the great feedback!
The LED could be a distraction, I sometimes hold my thumb over it so that I don't see it, but mostly I want to see when it is activating. The pipes are both cheap ebay finds. They were brand new, but like $8 - $10 each (likely from China). The red one is plastic, I pulled out the metal bowl insert. The little black one is fired clay or ceramic(i think). It too had a metal liner which i removed. I also had to grind out the bowls somewhat to make everything fit. Takes a lot of thinking to make it work because the top has to make the + connection of the battery and then connect to the switch. I love the big battery. I put in a fresh one in the morning and it is still going at 7 - 8 pm. My next pipe will use a nice hand carved wood base. Now that I know I can do it, I don't mind spending some $ on a finely crafted pipe. I agree that a better juice delivery system would be a bonus. I will roll that around the old noggin for awhile and see what I come up with.
Cheers!

I thought about this myself. A tutorial would be fun to see. ;)

Have you thought about a feeder system? You could use one of the smaller batteries (forget the designation of the AAA-sized) and put a small bottle in the bowl, which could feed via hidden tube alongside the battery in the stem to the atty. A push down in the bowl could feed it. All that, and/or a red led in the bowl to simulate the glow when you draw on a pipe.

Just thoughts I've had in my mental wandering.

Boris, the bowl is pretty much all battery, no room there. But I have been thinking about making a pipe utilizing that new ego-T (tank cart system). I just haven't seen any Ego battery connectors. I should just order one of those t-type attys and some tank carts and figure something out. Ego uses a 510 connector, so I would just have to size the stem so that it matches the size of the Ego cone. If I could keep the 1200 mah battery and get a tank system working, it would be the ultimate.
For now I have been using 510 carts modded with the ballpoint pen spring method. Works quite well, there are some smart cookies out there. If you are not aware of this method, search YouTube for the demo. It is simple and works much better than the standard 510 cart.

+1, you definitely have to do a write up the next time you make it. Plus have a materials list so we know what to go out and buy. :)

I wonder if instead of the switch, you could put a spring on the battery some how. You could push the cap in to make the battery make contact? Just a thought.

I wish I could do a tutorial and provide a parts list, but I really just used stuff out of my boxes and drawers full of junk. I don't even remember where some of it came from. I kind of make it up as I go along, which is why the pipes both use a different battery connector setup. A dremel tool is a must because you can fabricate anything with a tool like that and a set of attachments. I will start gathering pieces for my hero pipe soon (modding a hand crafted wooden pipe into a vaper) and I will try to keep track of what I use.
