A big bingo pot! But you know what? I enjoyed smoking, I really did. What I didn't enjoy was the side effects. The beginning stages of smokers hack, shortness of breath, the stink, the wrinkles, the knowledge that I was killing myself, the overall guilt and hatred of myself for being so tied to the almighty cancer stick.
I now enjoy vaping, perhaps more than smoking. Might there be side effects yet undiscovered, Yes, there might be. Are there know side effects like dry skin, vaping acne, yes they are not so pleasant. But also, I am avoiding some of the effects that the traditional method of just quitting have. I don't know too many folks that have quit without putting on about 20 pounds (some even more) No added weight gain here-so nicotine isn't all the great for ones heart but neither is toting around all the added weight. The temptation that never seems to go away, especially during times of high stress or other bad thing that can happen in life, that cause you to want to light up again-avoided tenfold.
Like many vapers here, words cannot express how grateful I am to have a healthier alternative to a vice that I actually kind of enjoyed. Am I still an addict? Yes. I go into the same panic, erratic behavior mode I did when I ran out of smokes if I misplaced my PV. I still feel edgy if my morning vape was put off but I don't feel the same sense of shame in it that I did when smoking. I breath freely, I don't pollute my lungs or others and am not subjecting my family to the effects of second hand smoke. The beginning transition of going from cigs to vaping wasn't a piece of cake (though for some it is) but it wasn't the crap sammich either. Next year, I think I'll work on cutting down to zero nic. The pv has made all these goals reachable in a way that we never thought possible.
So yeah, I do vape more than I smoked but I recall a time when one could smoke everywhere, in the grocery stores, even in the doctors office. Had the public smoking bans not gone into place, I probably would be able to say that I vape less than I smoked.
