I absolutely knew that was going to be one suggestion, and to be honest...the thought of a REO makes me nervous. I don't know why. I've never seen one in person, I'm not sure about the whole squonking thing...
.
About 2 months ago, I was in the same boat as you, somewhat. I was using an itazte VV V3 (perfectly good mod) with kanger pro or minitanks. Things were 'good', but I was finding myself less and less having those jaw-dropping moments of flavour awesomesauce.
Then, I made my first REO purchase. And my second...and my third.
I have become...a monster.
People really aren't exaggerating when they say that it is *that* good. It really brings a whole new depth to the overall flavour and experience. My first few times trying to coil it were frustrating, to say the least...but it quickly got better with the right tools. For me, those tools are an inexpensive jeweler's loop so I can see what I'm doing, a coiling gizmo (no joke, that's what it's called), nail clippers, a small pocket screwdriver, and some cotton.
I'm editing here because this is the list of items that I use, which are *inexpensive*, to say the least, and make your coiling world (IMHO) a whole lot easier. I had written a blog post about it here:

super_X_drifter has some excellent guides and videos in the REOS forum on how to assemble everything. I used those, and can now coil like a semi-pro.
As for my REO family? Well, as I said, it has exploded:
At the end of June, my family was this:
As of today, my family is this:
They are pricey investments, and I was wary about making that kind of purchase because I couldn't coil, and knew next to nothing about how it would *really* work (I mean, seriously, can the taste really be that much better?). The answer is...yes. Totally worth it, and it gets easier every day.
