I may joke around a lot but when it comes to my builds, it's serious biz!
Personally dripping is very dry to me. In my Reo, Dibi and my PT1 with rebuilt heads the vapor is juicier somehow, wetter...When I drip I have to drink water after every draw of vape, on the others I just drink like normal. (Which is a lot but with dripping it triples...) And as a result the flavors are much less tasty as it's like eating dry Kool Ade powder (drippers) verses drinking a glass of Kool Ade made up in water (Reo, Dibi, PT1). Again YMMV.
I think I liked the first video of the wrapping better. It seemed like it would be easier on the Reo just because it's more open. However, I'm taking advantage of the offer from samcm010 to send me the Trident clone. Question, though...will that work on my MVP?
Question with the Trident Clone. Two, actually.
1. The others clipped the cotton short, but for this one he has the cotton wrapping around the top. Is that necessary, or is there a benefit to this?
2. With building my own coils and using cotton, will I need to purchase 6mg juice from now on? Or is that more when you start using a Reo?
Ok the trident is on its way with a fresh micro coil at 1.4ohms and organic cotton. Let us know how you like it!
Depends if you're sub ohming. Since you'll be using it on the MVP, throat hit will be exactly what you're using now. For those sub ohming, lowering nic is a must.
is throat hit the main reason most people drop back? it seems like I'm getting a ton more nicotine in my REO, also a much harsher throat hit for sure. am I placebo-ing the nicotine increase?
the throat hit is enough to make me drop back to 12 or 6, either way...but if I'm placebo-ing the nic increase I'd like to stop until my 18 is gone LOL
Alot of people dont like dripping. I would assume if you dont like dripping then a REO isnt for you. Although Megan just commented shes had a hard time enjoying dripping but loves the REO. Could just be her particular RDA though. Personally, Im glad I went through all the different levels of vaping. I like to tinker with things and figure out how they work so it gives my OCD a good workout lol. From cheap plastic clearos to a REO, Ive tried em all. Ive also found that just about every piece of vape gear can be resold with minimal monetary loss...so theres that![]()
What is it that affects the ohms? The number of times you wrap it?

hm? I have a 1 ohm coil. never gag or cough. keep in mind I have a very high nicotine tolerance. I don't even really mind the 18mg in it - but won't order 18mg again as I'd prefer it lower for sure. but am i placebo-ing the increase in nic delivery due to the REO, or does it (drippers) actually deliver more nic?
Another option is to dilute your 1.8% with a lower flavorless juice. You might lose a little flavor, but you won't be overdosing while you are trying to step down. Lots of juice vendors out there sell flavorless.
If you are willing to wait for a slow boat from China, you can get a "Nimbus" dipping atomizer for less than $5. Fasttech_com
ok man listen close - I'm going to suggest something radical. YMMV and think for yourself - that said, please at least take my advice into consideration.
to be blunt the iClear30 is not good, at all. you're probably fatigued on low quality vaping. it isn't efficient or flavorful. what I recommend you do is skip right to the REO. don't waste time or money on the in-betweens like the KFL. you may be thinking about how expensive the REO is, or that you're nervous about having to build your own coil. but listen man - particularly with a REO, building coils and wicks is easy as 1-2-3. with the money I wound up spending on protanks, and a KFL, i could've bought a REO, and thus have 2 of them now instead of 1 REO and a bunch of other stuff i only plan to use in emergencies.
Your flavor will skyrocket. you'll likely need to lower your nic again because it's much more efficient at delivering nicotine. you'll enjoy the fact that you're producing more vapor as well. You'll have complete control over your build and can hone into your desired vape.
Now, you could also spend less money and get something basic like a protank, then learn to recoil and wick it with cotton or something. MUCH better than an iClear and you'll never touch those again. or you could order a KFL+ by ehPro from eBay for $30. but don't do it. order a REO. your total set up will be somewhere between $200 and $300. I know, it's a lot of money man. but chances are you'll wind up doing it eventually, but it will cost you more to get there if you buy other devices first.
whatever you choose, people will help you learn to recoil and rewick, myself certainly included. but please make it easy on yourself and get a REO. you can thank me later![]()
Listen to this advice. I was in the same situation as you until I got my REO, quickly followed by my second. I wasted a ton of money looking for the right equipment, resisted buying a REO for a long time because I was nervous about the mechanical thing. Wish I figured it out sooner. Flavor and vapor like I never experience before and it is so much easier than anything else I've used. No muss, no fuss. Seriously.
I'm little confused..the only thing you wouldn't have to do with REO as opposed to a RDA is dripping instead of being bottomfeeding .You would still have to build your own coil, figure what kind of wicking material to use, know what ohm to use,use the right battery and sometimes fiddle with your configuration to get the best results. How does using a REO make everything simpler or even add to the flavor I mean more so than dripping? It all really matters on your build IMO. Please don't get me wrong I'm going to buy a REO as soon I finish saving up for one so I have nothing against REOs at all. I think they're a really cool device for someone who has basic knowledge of coil buliding ect. but not really for a beginner who doesn't know if they like or are going to stick with rebuilding process.
Look at it this way. You get all of the pleasures of dripping with out the hassle of doing so. The device is very pocket friendly, operates with one hand, puts out all of the flavor of dripping and my favorite part, it sits well on the desk and is ready and waiting to use while I am fiddling with all my other crap.
( and before we say the same thing about the KF's, this comes from a man who is fortunate enough to be able to have a pair of Provari's, three Russians and no less than six KFL's which I still use as well. Not bragging, just saying)
