If you want to get the job done IMHO provari does it. Even though it is expensive but anything to stop me from analog i take it. I agree with Flyer, no one regret after buying a Provari. Most of the vapers even had a few for backup. Why the same brand, because is consistency, quality like no other and the satisfaction. :D

I think I'm going to buy an ego c twist starter kit and some extra juice today. Any advice on accessories I should get? Or where I should buy it? Should I get the 1000 mah batteries rather than the 650 mah?

I have a few of both, and I think you'd be better offwith three 650's instead of say two 1000's. The 1000's are just too long IMO. Good way to put out an eye if ya ask me.

This is what I would get if I were you, and then also consider a Vivi Nova or two, and some eGo W's.

Boge cartos .92 each Boge Mix n Match (5 Boxes)

Smoktech DCT tank Pro DCTank Tube $8.55

Chrome trim ring eGo Chrome Cone for the 3.5 mL Dual Coil Tank Cartromizer $1.49

USB charger: eGo Rapid USB Charger 6.75

Wall charger: Mini AC Wall to USB Converter 6.25

Plain drip tip: Colored Drip Tip - 510/901 $2.99 (What a rip)

eGo trim piece: eGo Cone Cover for DCTank

Joyetech eGo-C Twist: Joye eGo-C Twist Variable Voltage 650mAh Battery $22 x 2

Ecig Batteries twist $19

Crystal Clear Vaping 15-carto deal - $1.45 each

****

The Apollo would also be fine; best for home use, maybe not quite as good for "out and about", and would maybe elicit more unwanted comments like "what is that, a dildo/drug thingie/blah blah blah"?. Like Grimm Green says, the Twist is just a cool device for just about anyone. He tends to leave his other stuff at home lately, and I'm using mine right now while my other stuff sits. I'm going out to dinner soon with a friend, and bringing a couple of Twists with me. Phil Busarado took his to Bermuda with him so people wouldn't gawk at his more advanced stuff. Just talkin' out loud here.

And hey, could you please tell me who has the Twist in a kit? Thanks.

And please go with 3.0 ohm SINGLE COIL cartomizers with the Twist; "XL" size for the 3.5ml DCT tanks.

It's always nice to have a longer lasting battery, but be aware that the 1000 mah Twist is a very long device, especially by the time you put a juice system on the end of it. I have one, and don't use it much because of this. It may not bother you, but I just wanted to be sure you knew.

EDIT: I see John already told you this too.

I personally bought a 650 kit and bought an extra 1000 battery for extended time away.

A size comparison of (non-twist) batteries:
DSCF2436.jpg
Right is around a regular cig size (red line is ~65mm)
Middle is a 650mAh
Left is the 1000mAh

It's a trade-off between portability and battery life. Personally, the 650 lasts me a regular workday, but I'm never far from a charger (if I was I'd bring the 1000)

Nice Twist kit with the new rebuildable stardusts. I hear good things about their juice too. I've used every delivery system except a carto/tank on my Twists. I've settled on the stardusts and Vivi Nova 2.5 tanks. The bottom coil Phoenix hit like a linebacker and taste great but they are a pain in the ... to mess with. Cartos...basically the same for me. Novas and stardusts...no muss, no fuss.

That's good jp, I think you'll be pretty pleased with your vape. You're almost undoubtedly goig to have a few questions about tank/carto filling slotting, punching, and other little tricks. If you need some answers, PM m and I'll give you my two phone numbers so I can walk you through the little "twists and turns" in the road. It's really pretty easy, but it's obviously a lot easier to have someone tell you exactly what to do and why.

Oh ... the $22 place has free shipping, so you might as well get the Twists from them, which you're probably doing anyway. And I hope you're getting a couple of VV Novas; I've pretty much only used cartos, then cartos in tanks (plus a little "dripping", but I don't do that regularly - too much hassle for me - speaking of which, look at the "Reo" line for down the road; kinda like "dripping" with a lot less hassle) but the Vivi Nova just must be very good, along with the Bulli A2-TM atomizer/tank, and the GG Odysseus. They'd all work fine on a Twist, but I think they deserve to sit on top of a Provari V2 - maybe a nice chrome one.

Don't worry about all that for now, if ever. Like I said, I'm vaping on a Twist/DCT as I'm typing this, and the vape is very good.

Cartos - the most important thing is to properly prepare them. Don't fire them off until the polyfill is nicely saturated, and a little juice is just dripping out of the bottom when they're in a full tank.

Good luck - I think you're going to like what you're getting.

Hi Jp, My wife vapes a LR(2.0ohm)Boge on her(used to be my) twist at 4.6v. On the other hand I use SR(3.0ohm) Boge on my mod , usually around 5.4v. Either One would do fine on a twist, and both would be nice to have for different moods/liquids/situations. If you dont try both how would you know which one you prefer....? I say get some of each keeping in mind what you think will suit you best. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

I say XL LR And XL SR. XL is eXtra Long. Holds more liquid before needing to be topped off. I'm not sure how much more but more for sure. The StandardResistance would be best suited(in my opinion) to sweeter liquids, While the LowResistance would do better with tobaccos and a few others that seem to work better with more heat.

Hey guys, If I were to order one of these, what options would I want? LR is low resistance I'm assuming. I thought that's what I needed but there's no LR + 3.0 option. I thought I needed 3.0ohm also.. What option should I select for either of these?

View attachment 116168View attachment 116169

You want the XL size for the Smoktech 3.5ml DCT tanks. On the two choices in resistance - 2.0 and 3.0 - the 2.0 will give you higher wattage and slightly higher amps (and slightly less battery life) and the 3.0 will give you lower - but I think just enough - wattage for most juices and slightly lower amps (and slightly longer - maybe 20%) - battery life. I think I'd just get two boxes of 2.0's and 1 box of 3.0's. You can always charge the battery when the 2.0's run it down, but if you get all 3.0's and you find the vape isn't "warm" enough, that would be a serious problem with no immediate solution.

3.0 ohm:

At 3.6 volts, you'd get 3.6 x 3.6 / 3 ohms = 4.3 watts;

at 4.2 volts, you'd get 4.2 x 4.2 / 3 ohms = 5.8 watts; and

at 4.8 volts you'd get 4.8 x 4.8 / 3 ohms = 7.68 watts (at 1.6 amps)

2.0 ohm:

At 3.6 volts, you'd get 3.6 x 3.6 / 2 ohms = 6.48 watts;

at 4.2 volts, you'd get 4.2 x 4.2 / 2 ohms = 8.82 watts; and

at 4.8 volts you'd get 4.8 x 4.8 / 2 ohms = 11.2 watts (at 2.4 amps)

In real life, the 2.0's tend to run around 2.2 ohms, and the 3.0's run around 2.8, making the difference less extreme than these figures might indicate. Still, I'd get ten 2.0 and five 3.0; or maybe twenty and ten - at which point the 92-cent ones might start to make sense. I don't think that money spent on these cartos will be wasted; keep PIF (Pay It Forward) in mind. Someone could get a fine enough vape with a couple of Twists, a few stand-alone cartos, a charger, a drip tip, and some juice.

Speaking of chargers, maybe get two, although I've never had one fail. Backup, backup, backup.

Jp -

It has been my pleasure to help you get a good vape going. It has also been my pleasure to get about 20 people off of cigarettes, in part by spending about $3,000 of my own money so far, mostly on eGo Twists, Smoktech 3.5ml DCT tanks, Boge single coil stainless steel XL cartomizers, chargers, drip tips, trim rings, and juice. I've gotten maybe half of that back so far by getting reimbursed for just what I have spent. And more accurately, I usually give people more than what they actually reimburse me for. And sadly, I've been accused with great regularity of advocating vaping for profit, when my only goal has been to do what I can to slow down the cigarette-making machines that kill 443,000 people each year in the United States alone.

We lost 58,148 brave men and women in just in Vietnam. That is perhaps 5,000 deaths a year, in a (very long) shooting war. The death rate from cigarettes is 80 times higher than for our soldiers who fought the heavily-armed North Vietnamese Army and the Viet Cong.

I look at those cigarette machines as if they were machine guns killing 1,200 people a day; 50 people an hour; almost one every minute. And they will keep dying until the war is won.

In World War 2, we lost 416,800 servicemen and women, over a span of about four years. Compare that huge sacrifice to the 443,000 who die each year from smoking. How many Americans in total have died from tobacco? I wish I knew. It could be 20 million or more.

Those tobacco machines must be stopped, or at least slowed down.

The faster a new vaper starts vaping on something, the slower those machines run. Period. Every minute, every hour, every day, or every week you keep out of the fray while trying to find the "perfect" weapon means that those machines are not slowing down when you could be making them slow down.

That is why I advocate the Joyetech eGo-C Twist as much as I do. When Grimm Green and Phil Busardo say that they like it and use it, often in place of their "more advanced", "more powerful", "fuller-featured", or just plain "cooler" stuff, and say that they consider it a valuable addition to anyone's "arsenal" regardless of experience level, that tells me that it's a virtual no-brainer for anyone just starting out. It just does. Sorry.

I wrote this week or so ago, mostly out of frustration:

"If you just want to start vaping while you continue exploring the hundreds of batteries/PV's/APV's/VV AV's, tube mods, box mods, bottom feeders, drip atomizers, variable wattage devices, pass-throughs, cartridges, blank cartridges, pre-filled cartridges, cartomizers, XL cartomizers, XXL cartomizers, pre-punched cartomizers, slotted cartomizers, clearomizers, rebuildable atomizers, humungomizers, hi-res, standard-res, low-res atomizers/cartomizers, eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers, the Bulli atomizer, 510 threads, 808 threads, 808-to-510 adapters, 510-510 extensions and what devices need them for what attachments, single coils, dual coils, triple coils, watts, amps, milliamps, mah (milliamp hours), volts, ohms, resistance as it relates to amp draw and battery life, pulse width modulation, buck/boost circuits, LED readouts and menus, IMR batteries, ICR batteries, drain rates, charging rates, battery safety, "protected"batteries, "unprotected" batteries", "ECF Compliance", multiple-battery chargers, cones, trim rings, J-Tanks, the MAP tank, Joyetech tank systems, Joyetech "C" vs. "T" and "A" tank vs "B" tank, "eGo" vs. Ego" vs. "kGo" vs. "Go-Go" vs. "WTF" .................

then you might want to consider what ******* just advised you to do. Get a couple of batteries, a charger (two would be better), a couple of boxes of Boge 2.0 or 3.0 ohm single coil XL cartomizers, a 510 drip tip, and some juice. Any juice.

If you want a tobacco flavor, get some "Virginia" and/or "Casablanca" from Backwoods Brew. If you want a non-tobacco flavor, get some "Root Beer" or "Peach" from Backwoods Brew.

Optional but highly recommended: one or two Vivi Nova tank/atomizers.

When the stuff comes, charge the batteries, put some juice into a carto, get the polyfill well-saturated, push the button, and vape.

Then explore other options as (and if) you feel the need to".

Please do not spend 200 hours analyzing every option out there before you start vaping on anything, like some poor woman on here said she did. In 200 hours, over 10,000 people die from smoking. Just start vaping on something. it doesn't have to be perfect; I think it's fine if it's merely very, very good, and something that you will very likely continue to use with some regularity regardless of what other gear you end up with. At the very, very least, you can give or sell it to someone else whose life neeeds saving.

jp - congratulations, and thanks for enlisting. It might just be my imagination, but I think I just heard a machine gun stop firing.

Hey guys,

It's been a week and I haven't smoked. Well earlier I bummed one from a friend and took a couple drags and had to give it back to her. I didn't like it and it was even my (old) brand. People I know are very interested in my e cig and very supportive. All the smokers ask to try it. Everyone likes the way it smells and tastes. It's great being able to vape inside in the air conditioning.. it's flippin' hot here.

Very inspiring. I've got an order in but currently on analogs. I do have a question about the twist and this seemed a good place to ask it. One problem I had with the 808d's I bought the first time around (2yrs ago) was that they were great fresh off the charger, but went to blah pretty soon and stayed there til they died. I ordered a passthrough so I could be assured of constant voltage, but I have heard that many VVs can do this. Is that true with the twist?
