I was just about to order from v2 and I found this forum and am reading that it may not be the best idea. This will be my first e cig and I am looking to get what I think is an kr808. I want a normal cigarette size realistic looking e cig that is refillable preferably with a red led. Also I would like it to be automatic if available. I also looked at the vapornine but couldnt find much info how is there e cig. Does anyone have alternatives or suggestions of something better and cheaper that fits what I am looking for? I thought v2 was a good choice because of all the great reviews and lifetime warranty but if there is a better option I will gladly go for it. Thanks.

I'm not going to try to talk you out of what you want to start with preference wise; as no matter what you choose in the end, just starting and making the switch from smoking will be a great thing. :)

However, in the interest in helping you get off to a great start, please consider the following.

I went with green smoke at first, especially since I really thought that having a cig lookalike was going to be pertinent to kicking the analog (smokes) habit. Tell you what, I was wrong. v2 and green smoke are probably relatively the same with their own pros and cons for that category of personal vaporizers (pv). There's not a whole lot of choice if you want it to look and feel like a cigarette and they will all cost you a lot more in the long run. Most here who start with this type of pv seem to quickly outgrow it, mostly for performance or longevity reasons. Sometimes even lack of choice for growth or long term cost.

I suggest spending some time reading the guides that are on this forum regarding choices that are not necessarily cig lookalikes, so you can see what's really out there. As for red label, again, we all want that as close to a smoke taste when we consider switching, but that too quickly fades and you may soon find that you are tired or even sick of the tobacco flavor.

Again, not trying to say you can't go with v2 or something similar to start with, as I think that being here and making the choice to switch is just awesome! However, taking into consideration the experiences of many here on the forum, you may be able to save yourself some time and money and have a much more pleasant experience entering the pv world.

Some types you could consider looking into as an alternative would be a 510 kit, or and eGo or kGo type unit.

I put this together to send to friends that were considering switching using knowledge I gained from ECF and tempering it with what I personally experienced using a v2 type kit. If it helps you, awesome.

I wish you luck on your search and enjoy the journey. It is nothing but pure bliss. If in the end you find all this too be too much info, my best recommendation is go for the v2 kit and get started. There's plenty of time for you to find what you will like in the end after you start. :)

This would be your first mistake. Every new vaper wants these(kr808) Then they find the don't last long enough so the journey begins. Start out with at least an e-go 650 and refill your own cartos or carts (much cheaper) and don't worry about what they look like, the e-gos are much more attractive than a real looking cigarette:2cool:

Hi & Welcome to ECF! If you have decided you want a cig-sized e-cig, from what I have read you'll do well to go with the KR808, but you'll probably find better deals (price/quality/options) than v2. Also I'd strongly suggest you get manual batteries; they give you more control over your hit and perhaps more important, they're sealed so are not susceptible to damage/failure from leaking e-liquid. I'd check out the Volt here: Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarettes | Wholesale Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigarette | Best Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarette ; V4L here: Vapor4Life ; Bloog here: http://bloogplanet.com/ I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple, but also note V4L very often has a good sale going on, and always check for coupon codes here on ECF under "General E-smoking Discussion, Coupon Code Master List. I always start at the last post & work back.

Oh, also this will help you understand what folks are talking about when they try to talk you into buying something that looks like a small pipe bomb instead of a cigarette. It's funny because we've mostly been there: 4 Stages of Vaping - YouTube

Best of luck, Blessings & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Also am I crazy becasuse it seems more cost effective to go with v2 not initially but over time? I say this because they have a lifetime warranty and from what i understand parts go bad and need to be replaced if I go with v2 I would not have to spend the additional money. Or am I wrong, or is there something I dont know about the warranty? I feel like switching is #1 priorit with the $ I will be saving I wont mind upgrading later on if I am not fullfilled. Not saying Im not open toother ideas just asking. Sorry for the double post.

I agree with most of the responses. I started with a Blu and within a week was sick of it. Yes it is small, resembles an analog,
tasted like crap, and lasted less than 2 cigs. I went to an Ego 650 passthrough and Boge 2 ohm catos and have been in vapers heaven ever since. Of course the Blu planted the seed.... The Ego has grown the crop, and the Provari now runs the farm!
It's your choice and do as you wish, the others and myself are just trying to help you get the best from your vaping experience. Whatever gets you off analogs is the deal. You can progress later if you wish.

On another note, if you choose an analog-like device, it is harder to vape in places you can't smoke. People see a cigarette and a glow on the end they think smoking. I get a few funny looks with my provari, but I get a lot more "what in the h#ll is that?" And a lot of way to go / good job comments after a little explanation..

This is very true. Go with a larger box mod or tube mod or really anything that doesn't look like a cigarette if you intend to do it in public places outside of your home.

Remember though! Because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD when it comes to vaping. Vaping like a real Mc....... in public places where people don't want you to only gives all of us a bad name.

As a long time 808 user I can't understand what is so bad about an auto batt? Sure manuals have a couple of small advantages but nothing to make a big song and dance about.

OP, volt cartos, just like every kr808 carto, are refillable. The volts also have a sealed auto battery that solves one of the problems associated with auto batteries namely that juice can sometimes get into your battery and wreck it. Not a major issue for most people though.

The lifetime warranty in v2 batts doesn't make them a great option in the long run. your battery will wear out due to normal use over time, but that's not covered. Wear and tear is never covered under warranty.

smokeless image and v4l have products that are as good or better than v2 for a better price.

Please don't compare Blu to a even a generic brand 808. They're like the difference between your ego and the provari.

Wasn't suggesting to vape where it is not accepted, but a lot of places around here are beginning to accept vaping. I work for a mechanical contracting firm that specializes in mostly pharmaceutical work. Some of our clients do not allow smoking on their property by anyone. Their employess have to leave site to smoke. More than one client allows vaping by their employees in their "Cubes"!!! My office allows me to vape in my office as I want and we are also a "Smoke Free " facility with one small smoking area outside. It appears that vaping is making a welcome statement and becoming "socially acceptable" in more and more environments. Even in the Pharma environment...

start with what you would like. I can tell you that whether manual or auto the little cig looking ones do not hold a big enough charge for people that smoked a lot. My wife and I moved from the cig looking batteries to 18650 mods, and I now after a couple hundred dollars own a provari after 4 months of vaping. The provari and my previous purchase of a Liquinator are the best combo I have found for me so far. My wife is still using her 18650 mod as it is working for her. Also I was a PAD smoker and she was a PAW smoker.

Just what happened with me. You just never know how things are going to work out and you might get/be satisfied with something else.

Hi and welcome to ECF. To be honest- I, too, agree with most of the responses. (Ego/KGo etc...)

HOWEVER...you need to buy what you want, and I hope we can provide you with some valuable info.:D

If you are set on getting a kr808 model, you might consider a Bloog.(http://bloogplanet.com/starter-kits.html) I have heard positive things about them and they can have either an automatic (fire up on inhale) or manual (fire up on button-press.)

Good luck to you!
