OK
I use the ego and rn4081 types, the 4081's look like 100 cig's white battery, tan cart/carto, rn4081's are sold by smokestik, njoy and I'm sure a few others, azsmokefree.com sells all the hardware seperately too.

I use my ego mostly at home and work but break out the rn4081 for public use when i just want to blend in.

Squid have you tried the Kr808? I think the 2 are similar and was wondering if you have tried both and your comparison. I know that MissNomad loves her new 4081 Bull but that is in Beta and I can't order one. In her signature she liked the KR808 also but now likes her new Pitbull....

I know the KR808 is 3.7V while the 4081 is not. So my guess is the taste/draw is different.

Also, I agree that something "realistic" (similar to an analog) may be important to many people because of the mental thing with smoking. This is why i ordered a KR808 to test.

I still think the EGO is probably the best bet to try E-cigs - but let's face it, the vast majority of people that vape will likely have at least 2 different models - if not far more.

I don't believe I've tried a kr808 I've tried a couple of different cig look alikes but I don't know the model #'s they were the types that go by the company name vs model style. Other then them I've done the 4081, 510, eGo, lr88(or whatever the blu is)

The KR808 is what the V4L is. I will have mine Thursday but I only ordered a passthrough and some carto's just to test it - so it may not be a fair test because I won't have batteries. I want to find a simple 2 piece model that I like as a second similar to the OP here.

For some reason the manual thing bugs me as well. I know you have more control, less issues, etc. but it's the mental thing of smoking.... I may buy an auto EGO battery and test it.

I like the 306, you can use it on your current 510 setup as well so you wouldn't have to buy a whole new setup.( 306 has same threads as a 510 so you can use it on your current batt's and interchange between the 2)

The RN4081 is another good little setup. Not compatible but it performs very well also.
Can't go wrong with either imho.

Yeah I was one of those realistic looking people, but after signing up here I went ahead and got the ego don't have a single regret about it. But I do still keep my 4081 with me most of the time, living in a heavily populated area sometimes I just want to be able to vape with out 50 people asking me what is that, the rn4081 and similar styles are perfect for that.

I second the eGo over the 510. I started with a 510 and liked everything about it except the battery life. After using it for a couple weeks, I was getting pretty sick of having to change batteries every 45 minutes. I have the PCC for the 510 and it couldn't charge the batteries as fast as I could discharge them vaping. That got really annoying really fast. I went with a eGo and am happy I did. I vape like a chimney and the battery lasts a good 6 hours minimum. Once you get past the "looks", it is much better than having to carry around several batteries all the time.
