Right!? This thing better be as badass as everyone is saying! I wish the logos weren't all super gaudy though... Really shouldn't have plastered the dripper with all that lol.

I agree. That's about the only thing that I dislike about my authentic. Gaudy indeed. Still vapes like a champ though and in the end, that's all that's all that really matters.

Of course, I also own a SQuape R and love it so what do I know about looks? :D

Received my non-logo clone from Solid Vape today and waiting to do a review because the one I received is TERRIBLE. (And I'm not picky with my reviews ... at all).

- The 510 connection took a lot of force to screw down on my nemesis (plating tolerance is off). Screwed down on my Akuma clone nicely though.

- Center post wire holes are uneven. (Not a huge deal but shows a lack of quality)

- Center post screw holes are too big for the screws. You can actually just plop the screws in and to get them out you have to pull them out. (They'll just spin if you try to unscrew them).

The last and bold issue is really the only one that is a deal breaker, as it makes the device literally unusable . Awaiting a response from SolidVape before reviewing because it's possible I just received a lemon but I'm hoping I was just unlucky rather than there being serious quality control issues with this clone. We shall see ...

Wow, quick response from Solid Vape.

Appears to have affected some of the preorder batches. They are offering a refund or replacement (which is a few weeks out since this was a manufacturing error). I'll be getting a replacement as waiting doesn't bother me. Hats off to SolidVape though for the quick and polite response!

Chipotle.
I was looking around for a reasonably priced place I trusted that had this thing in stock and I just couldn't find a place I was happy with, so I ended up pre-ordering the V1.5 clone direct from acerigusa. Price was right and free shipping, can't wait to see the entire 24k plated deck AND positive T-block in person :D.

The real deal V1.5 isn't even available yet, the clone game is getting crazy!

I received my clone yesterday, and hits like a beast. The only negative is that I had to replace the post screws as they were too small. But other than that, quality seems pretty good for $20.

yea i talked with acerigusa and they said the screw problem will be fixed for the 1.5. i think almost everyone had that problem with the v1

I never had the screw post problem with mine. Guess I was one of the lucky few. Mine is the v1 Acerig logo-less gold decked version from eBay. My only "problem" is the deck air holes dont line up 100% perfectly with the holes on the sleeve. Nothing a hair larger drill bit couldn't fix though if i felt it made THAT MUCH of a difference.

Soak in muratic acid, same way you would get gold off of computer parts. Wouldn't be difficult at all. Muratic acid is sold as a driveway/pavement cleaner, I believe you could go grab some from home depot.

edit: This guy explains it in detail:
lol I thought the sponge bob clip was a nice addition the first time he did it but then I saw it was followed by like two dozen more of them and realized just what "too much of a good thing" meant

Just got mine. The dude I ordered from claims to have changed the screws so that there are the right fit and he shipped super fast. I ordered on Friday afternoon and it was delivered from California to Jersey today. I'm going to give it a shot in a bit.

Actually the plating is a fraction of the thickness of a piece of human hair. There is no way the plating made it over tight so it must have been the thread cutting die they used. Eventually once you cut enough threads the tooling wears needs to be changed. Since your dealing with China the quality checking is just not there to ensure tolerances are what they should be.
