I like the natural patina that forms on raw metal, keeps it from becoming a shiny finger print magnet, etc. But in time it gets darker and looks kind of grungy. Was noticing all my navel brass/copper Nuppin's were looking like it was time to start over on the natural patina on them. The quandry, dig out the Cape Cod Kit or just go with the Maas.

What I like about the Cape Cod cloths is they easily wipe patina/stains off without rubbing or altering the metals finish. But they are kind of messy (why the kit comes with a couple of pairs of rubber gloves).

The Maas is not as fast but also not as messy, might take some rubbing but easy to do with just a paper towel followed by a soft cloth buff.

I chose the Maas this time, and it did a great job on the Nuppin's and buttons. The down side is while at it I also cleaned the patina off a raw brass door on one of the brass Nuppin' Reos. My tumbled raw brass door that easily cleaned up with the Cape Cod with no issues is now closer to polished brass. Softer brass I guess because the Maas changed the metals finish. I should have tried it on the back of the door first.

How bout some pictures :D
Can never see enough shiny brass and aluminum

No pics, I don't like shiny mods, AKA fingerprint magnets. Not a fan of shiny atty's either. So the sooner this one patina's up again naturally to hide the shine the better... and next time, if there is one, it will be the Cape Cod cloths on the door.

The delicate balance between tumbled and headed-towards-polished vis-a-vis cleaning is an issue for me. Cape Cod cloths (which I got after a recommendation from Spydro) work for me. Other products did not.

Not a big fan of polished metal, me - too much attention needed to maintain. Hats off to those who make the commitment, tho. They look gorgeous. Like base jumping, I could watch it all day but know it's not for me to do.
