When I first saw the image there of ecigs vs cigs I suggested using that for a new poll to the same person who created the one seen in December. I suggested that the next poll to come along should be seeing instant results would make things a lot easier overall. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...44154-take-vaping-truth-survey-link-blog.html

This was also the opportunity to get word out on the M.O.V.E. organization which consists of members of the medical community who emphasize the need to educate their colleges about ecigs and not simply shove them aside in favor of keeping true to the hippocratic oath they took of "Do No Harm" by steering people away from vaping but instead pushing pharmaceuticals on people looking to quit smoking.

The hope of the poll creator was that this will not only be shared with other vapers but shown to others especially those who have doubts about ecigs and then see medical professionals recommending them in contrast.

OK who's the one person who said cigarettes are safer? Come on out yourself! We won't hurt you!

We know you're there...

I saw that too... So I left a comment, wondering how stupid you'd have to be, to think cigarettes are safer.

I simply review the science not the fiction often seen in news reports. Having smoked for over 35yrs. and then vaping for the last 2 1/2 I have a good idea. No tightness in the chest and irritated passage ways and the nasty burning taste you would get at times.

There are a number of other things from breathing in all that crap in comparison to PG(Propylene Glycol) used in any number of consumer goods like with food additives on top of already having been in use in Immediate Asthmatic inhalers since the 1950s and used commercially to clean out ventilation systems for heating and air in hospitals where nothing harmful can be pumped in!

Recent articles point to nicotine helping with Parkinson's Disease and chronic depression compared to pumping prescription meds into someone or Chantrix! Yet even the hazards of second hand smoke were blown way out of proportion so Big Pharma could cash in on all that $$$$$$$ from selling patches, gums, loaded with chemicals like Hydrochloric acid(want to inhaled stomach acid?) Nicorette QuickMist compare to PG, VG(Vegetable Glycerin natural extract), flavorings natural and artificial, and options for nicotine.

For those of us here at ECF who once had smoked for decades it doesn't take much to know how each of us feels once a good period of time passed by being smoke free.

Safer?

Well, I'd rather someone hit me over the head with a Marlboro, or a Winston than a Maraxus or a Dreadnaught. In that case, the cigarettes are much safer.

ROFL... or even a whole carton of Marlboros or Winstons. I love that tagline I've seen around here, about tobacco being like squirrels: perfectly safe until you set them on fire and put them in your mouth. :D

Gee how about a battering ram with a steel bodied Vamo APV topped with a Nautilus 5ml with the stainless steel replacement tank on?! Whack!!! OUCH!:laugh:

On the other hand the Marlboro or Winston will take their time at getting to ya! They work from the inside out once lit and the doctors have to cut the tumors out later! Have your lungs coated with black top pavement sealer for a much quicker demise over inhaling all of that tar!

Well if it was just tobacco you would be eating dried up plant leaves in comparison to liquid PG used in food products, VG another natural extract, flavorings, and only concerned about one thing! besides a possible upset tummy. Nicotine which can be found in eggplant and tomatoes but at nuch lover levels. Then take a look at all that sugar and additives to be found in the processed foods you already eat and wonder if you will turn into a plastic statue some day?!:confused::laugh:

The only problem with this is that I don't think it's very useful. Since they are promoting the survey on vaping sites, the results will be basically meaningless.

Not to mention that the issue should not be about peoples' opinions. It should really be about the facts and the unknowns; about the science, not the reactions to tabloid news articles. If this poll ran with a statistically-unbiased sample, you might be disappointed in the results!

Well, consider this: those who actually use e-cigs are in a much better position to know if vaping is safer, just from their own health -- those who have never tried them or known anyone who vapes, have no earthly idea, and in many cases, don't really care -- except for those busybody ANTZ so intent on sticking their noses into what doesn't concern them.

"SInce They"? are promoting...? No Since I shared this on the social networks as well as here so people would know about it as well as posting here on the forums. When people then share it with the non smokers as well as reluctant smokers they are then able to see for themselves that all the Hoo blah BS a roni being plastered on blog pages hasn't actually swayed many away from looing into vaping but stirring up a controversy can often have the opposite of the intended end results where more people become even more curious.

There is science there! There are already several research articles on both exposure from vapor along with studies as far as the effects of nicotine. The most common problem even with many vapers is simply NOT LOOKING for it! People tend to get lazy and simply say "I'll take your word for it!" instead of getting off the lazy duff and digging into the research materials and other credible resources for genuine information.

The reference to MOVE or Medical Organizations supporting Vaping and Electronic Cigarettes being presented lets people know that the so called finds of harmful imaginary or blown out of proportion toxins are dismissed easily by people in the medical professions as well as by the science published so far. No one has been vaping a lifetime as of yet to understand with 100% accuracy what the long term effect can be. But we know from fact that tobacco presents it's list of hazards and some of those medical professionals specialize in cardiology.
