POLL: Ecig or PV

I call it an electronic cigarette because without that name almost no one would have discovered them. I would like a poll of the number of people who searched for personal vaporizer to find their first e cigarette. It is what it is, and in my mind, a euphemism is senseless.
When talking about it, I use electronic cigarette, e-cigarette, or e-cig interchangeably most of the time. On here I usually use PV because it's faster to type and I'm lazy.
Now that I think about it, that might be why I call it an e-cig since it's just faster to say than "personal vaporizer".

I prefer to think of them as PV's...but if I am speaking to somebody who isn't familiar with them, "e-cig" will give them a clearer picture of what it is and what it's purpose is.

I call it an electronic cigarettes because that is what all suppliers call it. It was developed as an electronic cigarette. I also like the term personal vaporizer but I am use to electronic cigarette. It is like a cigarette and works like an electronic.
I don't like to use the word "cigarette", because so many people have a mental disorder about analog cigs. The word "cigarette" just causes their brains to shut down. You'd be better off saying "crack pipe" or "baby-killer".
I just call it a "vaporizer", and then (if appropriate) explain further that it it's "a smoking cessation device, like the patch, or the gum, except that it actually works".
If they are (really) interested, then I give them the full story.

I disagree quasi. If I call it an electronic cigarette, People can instantly relate to it. OH, What does it do? What's it like? I get all kinds of questions when I call it an ecig. I like the attention. I used to say vaporizer, but I got blank stares. Gotta go with something the public can relate to, negatively or positively. At least they can relate. And that's what we want here. To have the public relate to us. Next comes acceptance.
Um, I guess thanks are in order there Duck. Spent a year in the shipyards of Yokosuka. Broke down sub i was in. They wouldn't let us near the naval base because we were nuclear powered. Apparently they're still uptight about that stuff. Oh well, ate some good sahimi while I was there. Just another story...

But it's not though is it. It's an alternative to tobacco cigarettes ( the fact that it actually works as a cessation devise is an added bonus)

I don't care if it hurts our cause.
It is up to me to make the people I talk to understand.

That is what I say. It just saves a lot of explanation and confusion, and since I work at a hospital where any tobacco use is prohibited it keeps me out of trouble.
