I also recommend a 510 to start with (occasionally a KR8 if the newbie has specifically mentioned something that one would be a better 'fit' for them) because its cheap and the learning curve isn't too steep.
I also recommend dripping because I personally prefer it even while out (though not driving lol).
If someone begins a love for vaping its usually on one of the basic kits, and they may want MORE later (like a mod or 3) but I hate to think people being out hundreds of $ at the start before they even know if they like it. mods are great but I think they are a second stage user item not a newbie thing when the newbie is unsure of the product.
