Depends who i'm talking to...if i'm recommending it to someone its an Electronic Cigarette(Helps with google searches if they want to find out more info)...if i'm talking about it with friends its a Personal Vaporizer or PV(Sounds Cooler)...if i'm using it in public and asked not to smoke...its a Nicotine Inhaler(Sounds more Clinical, medical, more acceptable)

I call mine a PV, Nic inhaler, and an electronic cigarette. This depends on the present company.

I am now more inclined to call it an "Idiot Detector" because this is what it seems to be, more often than not.

Personally, I prefer the term "little fogger," as in:

"Hey, check out this li'l fogger!"

Well, Google searches rank e-cig as top and e-liquid as second for search instances in anything to do with e-smoking (which also ranks fairly highly in keywords). PV or Personal Vapouriser come pretty much nowhere.

Interestingly enough, one of the first times I used this phrase, I was unknowingly speaking to a doctor. He said "Inhaler? What was it prescribed for?"

See, now that is precisely why I think E-NI is a ridiculous & dodgy thing to call them. If a health professional mistakenly thought you were talking about a medicinal device, what hope has Joe Public got?

I'm sure Trading Standards would have something to say if they thought they were being marketed as such.

They are mot a medicinal device & should not be called anything that could mislead people into thinking they are.

I received a "warning" for calling out a homophobic comment in this thread. I'd like to know right now and for the record, is this site for heterosexuals ONLY? Because if I have to wander into rude comments like "faggy" like this and be warned for calling it out then I'll take my gay ... elsewhere! I will not patronize a site that supports bigotry in such an open and hostile way!

Right, okay, well, so long as I know it's okay to throw around disgusting words about people's race, sexual orientation or whatnot so long as they aren't DIRECTED at anyone in particular. Frankly I think that's a goofy rule, you should simply NOT ALLOW insulting language regardless of who it's directed towards because you never know, some random idiot might toss around the "N" word and you could have the NAACP coming down on this site. Fact is, it's wrong to allow it, period and this isn't a good excuse for you allowing it. I will consider this my warning to you, if I see the words in question on a public posting again I'll report it to your hosting service instead of speaking to anyone about it. I hope that's understandable.
