Don't even associate with smoking friends, she said. Demon nicotine must be exorcised, forever.

This is what pretty much every ex-smoker I knew (being the keyword) has told me. They had to rid themselves completely of the substance and any associations including friends - especially friends.

Granted, I still have a few ex-smoker friends who would talk to me...now, I'm sure they'll talk to me...hehe.

Probably the worst experience relating to the above was when my mentor and good friend (an author of a well-known self-help book - PM if you really want to know) told me he would never associate with someone who smoked. I outed myself as a smoker and he proceeded to tell me "well, looks like you better get to quitting." I was left disappointed, sad, and mad as hell.

Sometimes, I think that ex-addicts of any substance are the worst people to deal with. They morph into evangelist of the worst kind.

Sorry, to ramble...

GabbyD that is a great point. The naysayers will certainly not want us to use our e-cigs in public around children. They come in colors and flavors with flashing lights and they dont have the heath risks that parents know how to warn against. What is a parent to say if their child asks if they can have one..."uhh, no johnny it will make you too happy." I will heed your advice and use mine out of sight in thoes types of places. As for bars and clubs, I am going to use mine so much the vapor will rival the density of the analogue smokers. Viva La E-cigs!

He is a good guy, good pizza too;)I found out about esmoking(njoy) form the owner of Villiage Inn Pizza, in Skokie il, but, he charged me 140 over the summer. A bargain IMHO, since I do not smoke analog anymore. They honor there warrantee, but, suck compared to others I have, since getting serious, and finding this forum.

TB, hat's off to you, my friend, you really made an impression on me, when I was more of a newbie.

Thanks

Hi all. I registered to post this reply haha.

I learned of e-smoking today from The Doctors show. Since then I've been trolling these forums learning and trying to decide which to try!

Their review of e-cigs was somewhat positive. They all passed around a cigarette and cigar looking one and puffed on it. It was entertaining to watch, you could tell some of them aren't and never were a smoker :)

They said it has possibilities, but still advised that it's best to just quit because even nicotine alone has health effects.

so? all in all, was it rather a positive presentation ? and by curiosity, what were the brands/models presented ? does anybody know how we could see the video ?
thx guys across the pond...

I think they're kind of required to say that because it's true.

They also said that it's better than inhaling the tars a cigarette gives.

it was nice to see the e-cig on such a big show.. but two things came to my mind..

1.) getting such a HUGE press on a big show might have the "higher ups" looking to ban similar to Australia...
2.) once again they failed to mentioned you can get the e-cig without Nicotine.. With such a big show why couldn't they just simply state you can "ALSO" have zero nicotine in the E-cig?

Unfortunately, they also said that e-cigs cost $150.00, and the cartridges either $20.00 or $25.00 (I've forgotten which). Too bad they didn't research that a little better also.

All in all, it was quite positive however. To have not one, but four doctors say it seemed like a better choice than to keep smoking was definitely a good thing.

I didn't get to watch it unfortunately... glad it was positive.. but they should have done their complete research before saying that they cost $150 and the cartridges were $20-$25... I think maybe one of the bigger suppliers may have got them to do the promo for them...hmmmmm
