Tried my first parallel build last night. Using my kfl+ I wrapped a 2mm parallel coil with 28g kanthal. 9-10 wraps. Came out to .9 ohms which is just under what I was shooting for (1-1.2)
I felt like it was a bit to wide compared to the same coil using a single wire. I remembered seeing some posts on the inverted "v" style coils and decided to put a bend mid coil to reduce the length of the coil and possibly give better airflow.
Wicked it with some rayon around the coils rather than through them leaving a gap right above the air hole at the peak of the V. First couple draws were amazing! But the wick could not keep up, probably because it was too thin and was only covering about 40% of the outer surface area of the coil. Broke it down and re wicked with rayon running through the coils.
This thing rocks right now. Using it in my DNA30 cloupor clone at 21.5 watts, 4 volts. Awesome flavor and a nice, dense vapor that is surprisingly cool although it will get warmer if I chain vape it. I was just experimenting at first so I don't have pics to share but I will take some when I re wick it. It's just working so well I had to post to see if anyone has tried this particular setup in a kayfun style device.
