Hey guys,

I was browsing through the forums (which I have been doing almost OCD-like lately) and happened across a negative group of postings regarding a vendor with whom I have been purchasing from lately. I personally have only good things to say about this vendor. He has been quick to ship, has called me up immediately when I've had any questions, and his products are great.

To me, it sounds like there was some miscommunication between the vendor and his customer and then things got out of control with some name calling and other nasty stuff.

These forums are THE hub for information on e-cigs where people will either purchase or not purchase from a certain supplier because of what has been said about them. Because these vendors are doing business to support their lively-hood either as a source of primary or secondary income, should we exercise more caution on what is said on this board?

I understand that this sounds like censoring material, but try and look at this from someone else's point of view. This vendor may have not used his best judgement when dealing with a difficult customer (anyone in customer service here?), the customer could have been lying, who knows?

If I had read that post earlier, I would not have ordered from this vendor and I may not be vaping as contently as I am now.

To the guys that have been on the boards for awhile, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about, and for those who are new, please just take things that are said about products or vendors on this board with a grain of salt.

Vendors AND customers have good days and bad days. You could always post in the Positive Review area. Myself I watch for the response from the vendor and how the issue is resolved. Being formerly self employed cs (cust satisfaction ) was ALWAYS paramount.

We always have to be aware also many of these shops are Mom and Pop setups and the burnout is something else. I know someone up here that opened up 3 months ago. He employs 3 people and works nite and day 7 days per week. Runs the website during the week and then busy with the Flea Mkt stall on weekends BUT his CS is extremely high and is reflective of the effort he and his employees put in. This is one of the reasons I decided NOT to get into the biz.
Cheers.

What I do when looking at the negative reviews is this, one I look at how many over what amount of time, then I look at positive reviews for the same vendor.

Everyone may have an off day or week, but chances are if there are a lot of negative reviews over a long time and very few, if any good ones there is most likely a reason.

That's a good way to do it, although many would just go with what they see first. Especially because there are so many vendors and products out there it's hard to sift through it for newbies.

My two cents...

This type of post has to be difficult to police, but the mods here seem to do a good job of taking care of problem posters, so I haven't myself seen threads like the one you mention - thankfully. I suppose potential customers perusing these boards will, however, run into bash-posts, and we can only hope that they'll pay close enough attention to tell the whiny babies from the people with legitimate gripes. For myself, as soon as anyone, vendor or customer, starts with the name-calling, I'm done. I have no interest in anything else they have to say, and I bet I'm not alone in that. Although that kind of thread can be ...entertaining, in a way. I'm sick, I know it.

I've run my own business and I've dealt with some nasty, difficult people. The sad thing is that you are going to run into them, and you need to be prepared for it. Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable dealing with a business that stooped to a bad customers level. And if a business owner exercised bad judgement when dealing with a customer, why shouldn't the customer be able to share his experience? If this forum had nothing but positive things to say about all of its suppliers I would have been very wary of the information and would never have been interested in becoming a member. I think most people do (and should) exercise caution in posting negative comments. In fact, I've only seen one member who is consistently negative and bashes vendors and I think most of us has learned to ignore that person.
