I wish his buddy scott was still around , that would be my pick...I'll see what Kat says

And then there is Progg. Kent started Progg's thread... They are close.

Scottbee seems to be gone for good. He made a quick appearance a few months ago in the Burning thread but that was that. He doesn't respond to PMs anymore. So that takes care of that. Don is gone too.

Any of the above would be fine, I think. Whiskey and Kent have a history from the Pole Dancing thread; Tibs, Zelda, CES and yours truely from the Burning thread, Don and Progg from the Where is Kent thread, and then there are J0kers. It's all good, IMO.

BTW, a certain close friend of Christopher Robin's is turning 3 on May 30th. I'm being all cloak and dagger about it, of course, to avoid detection. ;) We should decide who would want to start her thread and whether we are going to add the name to the list or not (if we do, we kill the surprise).

off-topic question for mr catt - do you see any way to query the data base as to the number of supporting members?
just idle curiosity on my side ..........

Nope ; but that means nothing . Probably not from a 'member' access level. I just use the Member List - advanced search to get the 'selection list'.

for tomorrow morning

PMs notifying PreVets that they are approaching veteran status will not be sent out. Members must make it to the PreVet thread on their own, or with the help of a friend. :)

Please read the First Post in the PreVet thread for additional information.

Welcome to the ECF Pre-Vet thread!

This thread was started by our ECF member Whiskey and soon turned into a gathering place for prevets who enjoy celebrating this milestone with like-minded people. We know how to party!
Come join us and see for yourself!

Link to the List: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/backwoods-brew/287755-pre-vet-list.html

And, as an added bonus, celebrating your special day with us entitles you to an entry in the Veteran 2012 Contest!

You can find further information here:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/contests/256629-veteran-2012-contest.html

Times for our turnings are all Eastern and looked up by an ECF Moderator.
Dates are checked by at least two people but, when dealing with different time zones and the forum software not recognizing leap year, mistakes can happen. ;)

If you don't see yourself listed, or don't see a theme listed for your day and you want one, let us know.
Your presence on the PreVet thread is required if you requested an Avatar Party. Please, join us in advance of your turning time and enjoy the celebration

We need to discuss themes a bit or something.

try suggesting themes more often...or give them a list???

AttyPops said:
Good idea. People sometimes have trouble picking themes.
How about monthly theme suggestions. Favorite movie for May, Favorite type of music for June, Favorite form of transportation for July, Favorite style of cooking for August ......but just suggestions. OR maybe just change FAQs to include a list of possible topics "if you can't think of anything".

atty, we don't direct them to the faqs anymore! we're back to simple! and the only one, so far, still having a theme pending is djbish. our main concern now is to get the prevets to us.
when you get a minute, go through the back pages here and look for catt's may and june list. anybody on there you know send an invitation pm!

[Edited out.]

The problem isn't the theme, but the pictures we post. I've seen a lot of rather questionable images for very innocent themes like "Chevelle" or "Cowboys"... ;)

When I turned, I loved the bird pictures everyone was sporting and I wouldn't have wanted a movie theme... It's their day. We post pictures to make them happy, not to amuse ourselves. :)

Just my :2c:

Should we suggest actual themes or give ideas about how to come up with themes? I agree that people need some assistance, but suggest that the assistance help them find a way to choose something meaningful to them....I'd hate to have it turn into checking something off a list. People have been amazingly creative about their themes and I'd hate to lose that.

something that makes you smile?
what are your hobbies, interests?
What are your favorite things? pets, critters, movies, TV shows, cartoons?
do you want it to be funny or silly?

I agree that sometimes the pics get close to "pushing the limit". The moderators will step in if necessary and it is an 18+ board, so it's a tough one. However, that's an additional (and valid) topic of disucssion.

The "list" is more about helping those that haven't come up with a theme have suggestions. CES's examples are good. Now, how do we communicate them effectively?

We copy and paste what CES wrote in her post above and add it to the list. Verbatim! :)

And now I have to run. Dinner!

Do we know when people are having a difficult time coming up with a theme? I haven't noticed it so much, but I'm not around all the time

My guess is that we ask them questions, talk to them and as we get to know them we can help them refine any ideas they might have. that's what we've done in the past when people haven't known what to choose. Alternatively, when someone answers the invitation or comes by the thread, we let them know that we'll help them work out a theme if they get stuck.

(BTW, none of the people I've pm'd have responded so far )
