as i said before i used tweety's pm because i really liked the lay-out and added what i thought was missing. we don't have to use a template, anybody can add or leave out whatever ......

the main thing is for you all to look through tom's monthly list and see if any name sounds familiar, lol!

if a template is needed or wanted i can get one up on wednesday - tomorrow is billing. i also can look at post number 2, the suggestion page, at that time.

but i still don't understand what's keeping people from popping in. i intend to quiz ash - he found us!

I kind of like the option of having an avatar party with celebration/welcome as the theme. that is toned down with the persons name on out avatars, and the party mostly at the turning time)

I wonder if the reason people aren't popping in on their own has anything to do with how fast it moves...that that's the most common general comment that i see from people (other than thank you- this was so much fun)

(starting the pictures extra early this time was my fault...i wanted to pull the person in, but didn't mean the pictures to get outa hand, if they did. especially in light of my comment above, perhaps chatting would have been a better choice )

i have double and triplechecked vapian's turning date with nat. he definitely shows as turning on the 14th - 15th minus one day for leap year - in the pacific time zone. so, for accuracy's sake, he needs to be shown as turning on the 15th in the east even though it'll be a matter of only 25 minutes. classy shows him joining a few minutes before midnight and reaching his 365 days on the 14th but forum refresh will not occur until 00:25 on the 15th in the eastern time zone!


PMs notifying PreVets that they are approaching veteran status will not be sent out. Members must make it to the PreVet thread on their own, or with the help of a friend.

You're a genius, CES! That's exactly what we need! A party theme!!!!

As for the pictures, I don't think anybody has any objections to posting a picture or two when the guest of honor is present! I'm talking about just... posting pictures... you know...

I think that Tibs' idea about captions is very good.

First off I want to say that I admire how you all are trying to come up with the perfect PM message. Yes I’ve been keeping an eye on your progress and hope you have better luck than me with it. I even would have passed on some ideas if I had any new but I used them all when I tried to come up with the magic bullet.

No matter how simple or detailed that I made it, there where those who were still confused about the process. The only thing I can add, and do with as you will, is I tried to make it clear that someone would be around to walk them through the whole thing.

I saw where you all got into a discussion about the contest. As you know there are to be no changes. It’s pretty basic for all concerned except the Big Grand Prize. The rule is they have to participate, and they have to be there when the fireworks go off (or when the forum turns them vet). That is it, no back-end runs, no finding a loop hole somewhere. This is the ultimate reward for those who did it right!

I know some think it’s a pain-in-the-.... but instead of taking jabs at it, maybe it’s time to use it for what it was intended for. Getting people to you without overplaying it so it’s the only reason they come. It’s a draw. It can be free advertisement if you all went to the contest thread and congratulated the winner and making a point of mentioning PreVets. Future vets will see the post. Getting noticed by all the members who are there may get them excited enough that they urge their friend to participate in a celebration.

And Tweety, you and almost everyone else, can enter the contest by playing the minis like Tib did in the last one.

And I’m glad you are facing the picture problem. Good luck with that one too.

OK I'm not really good with this stuff and the pic question seems to be a hairy one. How can we tell a pre-vet he/she is to have a great turning party with only a couple pics at turning time? Lots of pics were posted for keys yesterday thou he doesn't turn til today and he was present and had a great time. Might I add that I had no intention of doing a bunch of pics yesterday till I saw that everyone else was and that keys was present. I can't see the harm in that,

After reading through the posts in here about it Fran, don't you think maybe a bit more conversation and a few less pictures are agreeable???
I have cut down on my picture posting a teeny bit, because I think people like to get in there & talk when its busy at party time too,
when its slow pictures at a normal slow pace is fine...gives members a chance to post in between them...we are just thinking that members and new pre-vets feel a bit intimidated by so many that they loose interest in posting in Pre-vets. We are trying to attract new pre-vets, What are your feelings about that???

Yes I think the pics went well yseterday. Even thou there were a lot there was conversation too.
We had a new pre-vet stop in this morning and even thou Whis and I both responded to him/her the turnee just left anyway and no pics were posted at that time.
I guess the best thing is play it by ear or sight as it were.

Ok Tib here I will answer you .

First of all lets talk about my self why I love that thread and am daile there , so smiply I love this kind of active the thing when I can put a thing for ppl that they love it , and I can do that easly like I dont fined it diffecult to connect with others and be active in this area. so since I descover that thread accedently from one of your sing baner,. Secan coz I love to let ppl know me and see me it's like Hey Am Here , I dont love to be n site an to be just a normal name , a name who only take from others with out give and help, and as I dont have much exp in Vape so I cant give ppl alot on this area but here I found my self I can celbreat and talk to ppl and care for each one , so for that reason I love it .

And now lets come for why ppl not come to the thread or chat on it , I will be stright and honest , and am not try to bea mean here , and believe this point I can say it on any section on ECF not only here or in our thread.

It's the age , yes the age as I note we dont have conecction between old ppl and young one , it's like youn afread from asking old ppl or to be with old ppl so they will be lost as they thing they are not cool or understanding, so they keep just jump from Thread to other with out belonging to any section or Thread.
And old ppl in most they dont want to conntact youn ppl as they thing they are just youn , zaive and just keep asking. For me I was the one who always starting to talk to connect I didnt give up if one didnt answer me so am sure other will do .

Here is the problem Tib that space between 2 ages is the problem , when young enter to old ppl thread they dont talk or friction on it and vice versa from old ppl view.

What am try to do now that am showing other that old ppl always complet what we miss , and young always can give the old a different view that they dont see. am try to get more and more ppl for the PreVeteran Thread .

Beside that see all the admin , more , or any team on the site they dont care for youn ppl like give them some spiceal things Encourage them , give a space to them , with some permissions for that space , section or area name it what you want.

And believe will see a Significant difference on ECF...

am sorry I make it so long so I will stop and I think you know what the answer now . And I will be have for any conversation about it . but I have feeling even if we wont to have some change some will not help with that . as we say it in arabic to see change we must start with boss then staff And not vice versa.
