What is it that you're objecting to? Having a team area, not tied to one person, so the list and discussion can be a team effort? How is that a problem?

My understanding of Tibs suggestion was to host the list in the sandbox ( a neutral location) , with several people having editing rights to the list thread. the other part was retain this thread as the workshop. That decision isn't as crucial, we can reopen a workshop thread as needed just about anywhere, but staying here we keep the history. but we have time to hash out the second part.
i'm objecting to still being responsible for the list together with whiskers - those switch-outs are dangerous as we learnt
I don't care ... temporary solutions are temporary.
I wouldn't want the sandbox to be the permanant solution... since it can be wiped out at any time and giving a group of us admin rights there ... may just as well give us a sub forum with admin rights and keep it "grouped" properly... rather than a "sandbox solution".
There's no telling how long it will take them to give admin rights to the list thread (or entire sandbox.. IDK how it works.. may not be thread-level rights) and to then turn around and have to do it to another solution later. Or worse, we end up "stuck" with the sandbox.
I'd rather put the proper solution in place to start with.

we could offer to do the maintenance in the sandbox freeing the current mods from that responsibility
atty, whiskey's dad's surgery is coming up. knowing her she'll be at the hospital until all looks well. i've got a few things coming too, more of a social nature but still. taking care of the list means never failing to read back .....
That would require multiple people with rights to edit the same thread in sandbox....

CES, we've already asked for a sub-forum.....

that forum is set up already and we can't do any harm there
btw i favor rotation for maintaining the list with all changes to be noted in workshop - maybe a week at a time
