What is the scratch resistance of the new finish?
If I put two precises in the pocket of my bag when heading out, would I have to worry about scratching?

They should be pretty scratch resistant but it doesn't really matter much because the Precise carries a lifetime warranty and that includes the finish. You can send it back to David and have it reconditioned/polished for free.

im tempted to get an 18500..

I don't think i wan't another 18650 size mod since i have my provari on that set up. Been thinking slant vs flat caps for last last week

Obviously anything metal put together can scratch, but the new finish is more scratch resistant then the old, that being said, as mixologist said, when they start to show their age, send them in for a freshen up!

I had extra caps made last batch, so i hope to have some finished up in about two weeks.

Let me tell you this much: I use mine, they clank around in my pockets, against each other, keys, etc. They're holding up extremely well. The only noticeable damage comes from when you drop them, inevitably button end down.
