I have still not ran into another REOnaut in the wild so I am limited in my experience when it comes to these REOs. I own a Black Wrinkle Grand and a Silver Hammer Tone Grand and out of the two I prefer the Silver Hammer Tone finish. It feels durable, looks amazing and even though it has a gloss the texture still gives the mod a grippy surface.

I am contemplating my next REO addition and thought I would pose this question:

Out of the numerours finishes the metal REOs are available in (TRA, BW, CV, SHT, and various colors), which do you prefer and why?

I've really been digging my TRA SL, I prefer it over my black wrinkle, and White gloss. May not look the prettiest but it sure does feel good (and hides all the battle wounds)

I am torn personally between the TRA and a White Grand.. reason for dilemma is I love the look of the white Grand but also like the rawness of the TRA, then again I could always paint the TRA...or polish it, or get the white grand...(you get my point, I cant decide)

I hear ya, my all white gloss REO looked amazing. After having a few "interactions" with the concrete it's got a few small scratches and scuffs which are very noticeable.

Since you mentioned painting the REO, I've been seriously contemplating getting hydrographics on my White Grand to cover up some of the imperfections. Another user (milkman i believe) got it done and it turned out like this:

I have grands in the same finishes as you and love them both. I also have clear anodized VV and it has held up awesome.

My favorite is the Lewis (silver) hammertone. Why? It looks amazing, has a slightly tactile feel and shows no signs of wear whatsoever. This is probably the most durable (or concealing) finish.

Thank you everyone who has contributed so far, I dont know if Rob plans on bringing back more of the anondized colors that were offered before, the greens and blues were very sleek looking and probably very durable as well. Since I already have a Silver Hammer Tone and I know the gloss white can be marred easily I went with TRA. Cant wait for it to arrive and then the real fun begins.

That hydrographic is NICE! Any idea on the cost of having a REO dipped?

I love the idea of bringing back clear anno! The only reason I don't have a tumbled is I am highly sensitive to metallic tastes, to the pointing can't eat pancakes with baking powder in them(most pancakes) or anything with bisquick due to the trace amounts of aluminum. The clear anno would stop this as well as be able to sweat, and still vape with clean hands.

Clear anno SL/LP for the win.

I think that will all depend on the local shop, but since the REO is small usually it would be the shop minimum. I'm thinking 20-35 bucks but if I get it done I will let you know exactly.

Now if Rob could hook up with Zen and get some Grands "ZenCoated" :D

I have a few zencoat pv's and that stuff is the real deal. The provari has a gold ZenKote now.

Skip to the 42:00 min mark - try not to give up until the 52 min mark if your really interested.

I think it would be worth the extra cost in purchasing a zencoated REO, for the extra durability. Well, at least I'd pay for it.
