Did I miss or misrepresent anything fellow beta's?
Nope, I think you have it covered pretty well. McMaster has some pre-drilled screws, but the holes in 'em are on the small side. I haven't tried one yet, but should. If I actually had to drill screws, I might just go with brass and pickle it afterwards.

BTW, be aware that the colored plastics are not subtle.
Indeed, they are not. Here's some samples:

And for blue, see previous pictures I've posted.

One of the guys got a brass ring and its orgasmic.
Well, I had a little too much meade that night..

Oh wait:

It does dress up an otherwise basic black mod pretty nicely, doesn't it? Wait until I get the firing button in there too. :D

Unfortunately those brass parts are rather pricey.

Dear all Good day .
Rossum sir , What would it take from my side to persuade you to let me have one of those beauties ^^^^^ .
Hope you will kindly oblige.
I'm sorry, but I don't want to be in the mod-building business. My interest in this project was to help to refine the design and making a few for myself and a some friends. This is strictly a hobby. I already own and run a successful (not vape related) business. There's a fair amount time/labor involved in building these, which I would find find tedious and boring after building more than a few.

There was some concern that maybe the small holes in the vent (pre-drilled) screws made them more prone to breaking drill bits?
Yep; I intend to try one without re-drilling any wider. Given that the screws with pre-drilled holes will only have about half the flow, they will probably require a somewhat different squonking technique, but I'm not yet convinced that they're not useable that way. Then again, I'm stubborn. "Probieren geht über studieren".

The pre-drilled screws at McMaster will work. But squonking requires a bit softer touch and a longer squeeze. If you give it the same squeeze as a 1/16" hole, there is a chance of overcoming the seal around the tube/bottle or tube/screw. I have a one of these in one of my mods (the hole is ~ 1mm). You get used to it, but I can tell the difference when I switch between devices. Its not difficult to get use to; you just need to recognize it when you first squeeze, and then go a bit softer and longer. I use VG juice and its really no problem at all.

But if you can do a 1.5mm hole...thats the way to go. :)

I don't have access to a drill press, but I have a table vise, in your opinion is it easy enough to drill out the 1mm to a 1.5mm by hand? For me the hardest part was making the initial hole w/o a drill press, i've got some colbalt SS drill bits which should make easy work if I have pilot. This is the only part that worries me about this build, everything else seems pretty easy.

gdeal & beta's - Thank you so much for putting this together and making it available! I can't wait to get my hands on v3.1

Edit: Rossum, was that an actual brass ring/button that you had made or was it plastic that was pained? I would love to have something of that effect.

I drilled out a number of 1mm screws to 1.5mm for the Betas. I had a 50% success rate with a drill press. Failures happened mainly from bits breaking half way in the hole. Either the bit was finding a new pathway and got hung up on cross channels or the first hole was not perfectly centered and the bit follow the existing channel, but broke through the side wall. Overall, its just easier to drill a solid screw.

I havent tried any by hand, but I can imagine it would be very difficult.

The 1mm hole screw isnt a deal breaker. Its just a little slower. I'm using one now, check this out:

Real brass. Shapeways will make it, but it ain't cheap. They use a fairly typical jewelry process. Make/print the part first out of a material that will melt away. Pour plaster around that and let the plaster cure. Pour in molten metal which melts and displaces the original printed material. After the metal solidifies and cools, break away the plaster and hand polish the metal.
