I don't use a seal under my Cyclones, no leaks and they sit flush :) I just got a Nuppin on the classifieds and it is challenging the Cyclones supremacy!
I thought it was all hype but this little nuppin is really good :) Peter is arranging another batch as we speak It mite be an atty You want to try :)

What are you using as a seal Vince? My cyclone does not fit flush but I am using a drip tip o-ring on the Cyclone threads as a seal. It is by far my all time favorite PV.

I don't use a seal either. I have the screw adjusted pretty good, there's about 1/32 of a gap, which doesn't bother me. I haven't had the pleasure of trying a nuppin yet, but I hope to one day :)

This is Peter's threadhttp://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modder-accessories-supplier-forum/587492-im-thinkin-maybe-we-should-try-again-you-kids-should-behave-yourselves.html updates will most likely be posted there. From the sounds of it now should be at least 8 to 10 weeks before there available again.

Just watched Super X's pseudo "Joy of Painting" (no offense meant, was entertaining) walk-though of the Nuppin. Now I want one, how do I get on that action?

HELP! Can anyone tell a noob how to grind the brass thumb screw that goes under the fire button?

I tried the bolt cutter on my wire strippers and that screwed up the threads. Then I tried grinding with a dremel but now the screw won't thread into the nut . The end seems to have flattened out. This is driving me nuts. What's the best way to shorten this screw?

Thanks!

I used a belt sander to take it down to 6mm, then just bevel the edge around the threads slightly so the nut will screw back on. You can just sand that edge lightly with sandpaper.

I always like to thread a nut onto the screw below where I am going to cut it. The cut with whatever (hacksaw, dremel, diagonal cutters) file burrs off with a file and then use the nut to chase out the threads from below. It saves you having to get a nut onto the mangled threads since the nut is already below the mangled part.
Hope this helps.

Yupp. That is the best possible way to do it. If you use two nuts you can even lock them against each other and if your shop vise has aluminium jaws - that is perfect to secure the screw when cutting.

Cheers.

I use this same method. Thread the nut on, take a dremel, file off the burrs and then unthread the nut.

just came across this - but since i'm not a modder ;) i have no idea if it's compatible with the fd classic 510

$3.03 DIY Self-adjusting 510 Connector for E-Cigarette - stainless steel + brass / 22mm dia. at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

This one looks like the Varitube 510. 510 Connector - Self-adjusting Center Pin - 22mm Smooth top
It's very close to the Fd 22mm with 2 differences.... the top is thinker (works great for Cana box's) and the adjustable pin it just slightly shorter (doesn't extent past the retainer like the fd does.
IMG_8045.jpgIMG_8046.jpgIMG_8047.jpg
The thinner one with the black plastic is the Varitube, thicker with white is FD.

Update: Almost forgot...3 differences, The Varitube is M10X.5 and the FD is ( M10X1.0 if I'm not mistaken).

It's alive!

I went went a dna30 for this first one but have a couple dna40 boards coming in the co-op so I'm sure there'll be a second and third. I'm tickled pink with this thing and really want to hat tip all you mates. Gdeal and all the beta team... fantastic, the build doc was outstanding. Seanap, Mundy, T1lVl, Rossum and all the rest who posted pics of the board /w wiring and all the tips. I haven't soldered anything in 25 years so I took my time and practiced up.

Special thanks goes to Tycreek for sending me a vented, machined screw. Works great mate! :thumb:

Went with the metallic oil rubbed bronze and a couple coats of rust-oleum crystal clear enamel. I fell in love with that color when gdeal posted.

Group pic with my copper vein reo that actually looks like oil rubbed bronze after almost 2 years of handling and daily use:

Ok you guys know those posts that start.. It's alive!... Well after almost 3 full days, my gdna is finally alive! I'll celebrate later mainly due to the fact that I'm having problems with the bottle. When I put the top part on, it tilts about 3.5mm, like the bottle assembly is too long (it's a Reo Grand bottle). <ore likely, I've done something wrong with the 510 assembly that's causing the entire bottle portion to be too long but I can't figure out what.
