Somebody should figure out what a "kit" of all the small parts would cost. If it's low enough, I suspect the mods here could be persuaded to make an exception.

1.Two Stainless M2 Screws $4.17 per 10 pack (or $0.84 per person)
2.Two M2 Brass Press Fit Inserts $9.76 per pack of 25 (or $0.79 per person)
3.Two Ball Tact Switches (Three is using the the Ball Tact Fire Button) $1.21 per or $2.42 for both
4.One Alps Low Profile Tact Switch (not needed if using a Ball Tact Fire Button) $0.14
5.One 3 mm Nut Mouser $0.48
6.One Battery Contact Mouser $0.27
7.Two Fuses 2920L700SLPR Littelfuse $3.14 per or $6.28 for both
8.Two ¼ Inch Cylinder Magnets $0.56 per or $1.12 for both
Or for extra pull force $0.72 per or $1.42 for both
9.Two sets of Mini Connectors Hobbyking. $3.16 for 10 pairs ( or $0.64 per person)
10.One Fatdaddy 510 “Classic 510 Inserts” FatDaddyVapes.com $9.99 (3 Complete Sets) ($3.33 per person)
11.Atty-510 O-ring – two thicknesses $0.12 or $0.14

total : $17.87, not including shipping and incidentals

I will PM Classwife and see what she says.

I would also consider adding to the list for the M2 screws, a 1.3 mm Hex Key McMaster-Carr They are only 14 cents each.

I won't go so far as to add wire, etc. Not sure what was used in the last group. They carry wire at any Radio Shack in 3 colors as well.

20 and 24 gauge silicone insulated, the more strands, the better. The originally recommended source was Hobby King, but they're kind of a PITA to deal with (long story) and I ended up getting 10' of each in both red and black from Amazon.

I'm guessing the mods would be happier if we continued this in the Coop thread rather than here.

Great list KS!

You need a max of 1 foot of 20g and 24 g

I used Hobbyking:

Radio Control Planes, Helicopters, Cars, Boats, FPV and Quadcopters - Hobbyking. 79 cents for three feet of 24g Turnigy Silicone wire

and

Radio Control Planes, Helicopters, Cars, Boats, FPV and Quadcopters - Hobbyking. 72 cents for three feet of 20g Turnigy Silicone wire

Edit: or play it safe and go with Amazon.. sorry, I dont have links...

The silver and blue bodies have a thin ring. The black body has a thick one.

With the current design that has contacts that keep the cap from moving laterally with respect to the body, the trim ring no longer does much except act as "trim" -- hiding any minor discrepancies between the shape of the body and the cap, as well as any gaps.

You also have the option of ordering a slightly longer body that's intended to be used without a trim ring, but going that way will almost certainly require some sanding and other fiddle-farting to get everything to match up perfectly.

Just to put a visual to Rossum's post above...which I agree with, here is an example of the earlier V1 which had a "no ring" design. While the printed tolerances are very good, it really depends upon how you surface finish the mod. You will need to focus on the line where the parts meet so the interface doesnt become too distracting . The ring eliminates the issue all together. But it really depends upon what you want to do and what look you are going after.

This is an unfinished V1 in "white strong flexible" material.
