A CA surface works well on Alumide, but smoothing polishing the bottom where the buttons and dna screen are is a whole other story.....

A CA surface works well on Alumide
I had a problem on my dry fit with the top cap. When I put the mini connectors in it would move the wall for the magnet. If I removed a mini connector to get the magnet in, then I couldn't get the connector in. I finally got it but I was out of beer by then. It hurt to have to tear down the dry fit, knowing that it is going to be a "pita" to get it back in. Any suggestions other than buy more beer?
I put together a walk through on how I do the Mod to create a squonkable 510 connector. This mod uses the FD classic 510 connector with an off the shelf #6-32 vented screw with a 1 mm hole. It will work for other size screws but you may need to select a different size oring to match the screw that you use.

Rob33, Do you have the 1/4inch magnet versions? That was one of the reasons why I went to the 3/16th magnet. (to make this step easier) With the 1/4 inch version, the wall at that point is flexible. I first install the mini connector, then I use a 1/4 bar/dowel, etc to reform the wall by just pressing it in and taking it out. The same thing can be done by stacking two magnet and pressing in, but its a bit more difficult to get leverage. But it can be done...
Radical idea! Maybe try with no beer. If that doesn't work, go straight to whiskey.![]()
