These boards are the newer boards, with the F/C setting, the screen still flakes out, but when it does, it reboots.
Though this is a bit better, the boards are still not ready for prime time.
I've been using temp control off, and now will attempt some NI200 builds, I'll let you know how it goes

Nice! This leads me to believe they have no idea why these boards are flickering.

Gold shell has a dna-40 in it again... Hope it wears better this time?

Just a thin layer of gold paint before clear coat and even that was only a couple quick coats.

:?: That is really disheartening. So you have a new chip from evolv with the Celsius setting and the screen still can glitch?

Yup, it also freezes, and you have to do a battery pull to reset
One DNA40 out of 5 has been rock solid without a single glitch from -5 to near 100 degree temperatures and numerous coil combinations ... knock on wood ... I'd buy 5 more if I knew one would work this good!
I would wait until they make a chip that's reliable

I was simply hoping RMA boards would get returned before next year with at least another solid working DNA! Won't give up my working one to share the goodness with others! I don't even carry a backup... because nothing else compares.

Sure hope they figure out what's causing such a high trouble rate because when a board works, it's far better than anything I've ever tried.

Oh Great! So all I have to look forward to is more defective boards :(
I was thinking with a BF'er the temp control is really not as crucial, I seldom burn my wicks in BF's
I mite just put DNA30's in my Gdeals and know I have good boards :(

I have one original dna40 working great since it was installed and one that had been returned working great. Never had a glitch out of either of them. Running both in GDNAs with nickel wire at 30 watts & 410 degrees. Wouldn't trade them for anything (vape related...lol). Sure it is a pita if you have to swap one, but i would personally take that chance any day over running a dna30.

Well it's nice to hear some one is having good luck with the DNA40's :)
I want nothing less than the new 40's in all 3 of my Gdeals, Guess I will just test them all thoroughly before installation and hope for the best.
After All I could have installed 30's months ago, would seem dumb to have waited all this time and then use a 30

New that I said that, how long is the warranty from evolv?
One year.

I ordered the DNA40 I've been running on release day and installed it the following weekend, so I've been vaping it for more than two months with no issues.

Maybe it's because I'm not a "power vaper"? Typical power setting for me is 15-18 watts. I gave up on Ni200 after a couple of days with the first coil and switched to Titanium, so I don't have absurdly low resistances either. My favorite coil is 7 wraps of twisted 3x30, which comes in over 0.20 ohms on a 2mm mandrel.

My recollection from what others have said is that the difficulties appear above 20 watts. Thanks for the Titanium links.
