I really want to see your 510 so I can keep a look out for ones like it before I assemble a mod. Its can be a big PITA to swap them out, especially on the GDNA.

Good idea on the solder wick! Can you post a picture on that too. Are you just driving the screw between the braids? and are you sealing the ends with solder to prevent fraying?

Every once in a while I find an atty and 510 that don't play well together. I do find it odd though because my FD 510s usually work with any atty. Maybe that is because the FD 510 is ever so slightly looser than most. If your atty threads are ever so slightly smaller than most the two tolerances added together may be to much. Have you tried other attys on the peko?

Glad to hear the solder braid worked for you. I considered that as a good option a while back but never tried it.[emoji106]

I'll try to remember taking pics on my next PEKO. I still have 2 to build... :) Need to drill the center post for the Derringer and that will go onto PEKO 2.

I actually shortened the lugs and soldered the wick onto those using a 6mm plier clamped in between to make sure the solder did not run across, if that makes sense to you.

Cheers.

I'm sure you tapped through the original hole in the delrin
how flush is the nuppin 510 positive pin to the atty 510 negative casing? Does it protrude at all?

It protrudes on both. I think I've got it fixed... small o-ring on atty 510 (won't srew down enough with a bigger one around the FD510), screw delrin up to meet the atty, make sure button is adjusted properly. I think what was going on last night is after taking the Nuppin on and off so many times (sometimes with pliers) on of the screws loosened so it wasn't firing all the way. Tightened everything up this morning and it seems to be fixed. One weird thing: if I tighten the nut too much on the vented screw, it won't fire.
Got another parts kit today, so I'll see if the 510 is any different. Thanks for your help Bob!

What happens when you tighten the screw too tight on the 510 insert delrin, is the o-ring squishes up over the screw head, not allowing positive pin connectivity with atty, the 510 screw should be tight enough not disturb the o-ring

^I'm guessing one of those Derringers is a clone? I'm still waiting on the black delrin top cap since the first run with Tom. :(
Most definitely is. Its a great quality clone at that... but my authentic from Tom is just wonderful. On a tight budget, the clone is almost just as good.

Which one? I ordered the $8 delrin 1:1 from FT, just to see if I like the atty before dropping that much $$ on the authentic. They just look SO GOOD on the Peko. And thankfully so does the freakshow mini, since I'm on that list too.

I have one that came from fasttech, the SS post one, that I drilled to bf. It does work well and is decent quality. But I also bought clones from the US. Different company and they are better. My black delrin cap in pic came from the USA vendor. The US vendor I got- the atty, a white delrin tip, a copper cap, a brass cap, a white cap, and a black delrin all for $26!!!

Mark... don't ever post again... Dat post count...
Haha for a minute I was wondering what you were talking about. 666! I can't not post on this forum. I'm addicted. Ha. Especially to these printed 3d threads. Severely addicted to building Pekos, I need to enter a PekoRehab center. Have 3 and next month or so I'll have 4 (Peko Fatty!) I'd say next year I'll have 10 Peko's in rotation. Hey, i can't get enough. Gdeal, you got me bud. I can't stop.

And Turk, that paint job looks GREAT! What's that b/f in the background?? I've seen that button and plate on the front somewhere before!?

Too heavy coats will do that, you need to go light between the coats ...

I guess I'm screwed now!!! How many coats should I apply?

Hey Pauly, on my Peko I gave it 2 coats of paint in one 24hr period, then the next day was 6-7 coats of clear and let it set up overnight. I would say the clear coat was about 45 minutes between coats on average...
