So after some finagling and modding I was able to get the 26650 Peko up and running. Here's a group pic...

Great looking device Gil... Don't know if you were aware of it or not, but the battery goes in upside down so the button or flat top portion of the battery is facing downward.

No I didn't! No wonder I had to move the button so much. Normally a setup when seen gives that away but this looked like a REO only instead of a spring it has that brass fitting.

[URL="http://s1231.photobucket.com/user/unure/media/003%20copy.jpg.html"]I had to move the firing button real high but it's working. Im thinking a flattop battery would have worked out of the box. Well after the surgery replacing the snap top cap to a screw on cap I can officially deem this mod is recommended by......

:D

The positive side of the battery needs to be down, it doesn't matter flat or button top, as the neg side is flat and would rest against the top where the firing pin is, the pin needs to be below the surface until button is pressed

That's sweet! I'm thinking about a 26650 myself. It really doesn't appear to be so terribly large compared to the 18650.

Sent by REO vapor

In a pic it doesn't look much bigger, but the feel of it is!!! It will just take some getting used to. Should have seen the look on my face when I opened the package of the new batteries... These are huge compared to the 18650's. That is when the real perspective of it all set in.

It's all good Gil.... I did the same thing and couldn't figure out why. There is even a pic in the build doc that shows and explains how to use the battery in them. That's when you really know how much attention you have been paying and the after thought of how wrong something could've went...

They are big, but it doesn't have that 'huge' look

Mine wasn't a kit. Brenda knew my arthritis might be n issue with assembly and linked me to where they can be bought put together. I should have done my homework, :)

Muzic, what 26650 battery did you end up getting? I saw one somewhere from a company called Vappower, supposedly like 5500mAh and a decent Amp limit. But I'm so leary of new batteries without seeing some proof first. Never had a 26650 so not sure what's recommended.

I wound up getting the green Efest 4200mAh as the testing seems to be about the best for 26650's. I need to be covered on the amp limit as well since I do occasionally vape in the lower .2Ω range sometimes... I think it was Finagle that highly recommended these. I put in the first one at 3:00 today. I will post my results tomorrow on how it's doing.

Man...you guys arent reading my build docs??? They take forever to put together.... lol

Here is that pic with the battery facing down. Also make sure you put the battery in from the side, so it slides with the battery contact, not against it.

Hmmmm I assumed I bought it from your business since it looks the same as the kitted mods.

Yeah Gil you had to loosen the button so much because you have button tops. Flat tops are way better in the Peko... but if you keep them flipped the button won't make much difference. It might put a little more strain on your battery terminal but it should be alright. The Peko works both ways, battery up or down. But it is suppose to be facing down, the terminal goes straight to the positive post/ atty.

My designs; thats the first one ever made, its version 2.1 If you just got yours you have probably have version 2.2. Someone else is running that business. But I fully trust and support them.

Sorry, I hoping you got the $$. You sell only the kits right?

That would be right up my ally. Have been looking at these but don't think that I can manage to get one put together with my messed up hands. Especially with the right one in a cast for awhile [emoji6]

Good tip on the voltmeter G! I left that one out.. and mommabird, are you married? I'm sure your significant other would help you out. If not somebody on here will definitely help you. If you ordered all parts and payed for shipping I would do it for you. I enjoy putting them together. I've built three! And I use them all daily.
