Hi Guys,

I wonder if anyone can help me out with a technical issue I'm experiencing with my 901...

Two of my batteries have died within the last week (have used the same atomiser on both batteries).

On both occassion, the batteries were fresh from a recharge. As per norm, I attached the battery to the atomiser... then... the atomiser got really hot and started to smoke. When I looked inside the atomiser, it was red hot!

If anyone has experienced similar problems, I would like to know if it is the fault of the battery, the atomiser or the recharger...

I've ordered a couple of spare batteries and atomisers from Simon, but don't want to burn them all out! 8-o

:cry:Any help appreciated!

i wonder if they were the new switched batts , the over sensitive ones

edit : if both them batts are less than 30 days old then they are still under guarentee , if thats the case simon will replace them free of charge. assuming of course that's where you bought them from.

could be the atomizer , it has happened before :

Hey Keef!

Same thing happened to a member here by the name of MommyShamm, and it was actually my own mini that had this happen!

What happened was, 1 atomizer, destroyed 3 batteries, plain and simple (all within minutes). We're not 100% sure why this happened, but we are guessing, that the 1 faulty atomizer shorted/fried something on the battery end to either shut the switch down completely or keep it stuck on.

2 batteries were working perfect before they touched the atomizer. Once they did, they were done.

So, I'm guessing, 1 of the atomizers is to blame for the issue. Once 1 started, the rest were a simple chain reaction because you want to test with other batteries. The chances of you having 6 batteries and 4 atomizers that are junk are VERY VERY HIGHLY UNLIKELY (although anything is possible)

So, my guess is there is no hope for the current batch you have. I would suggest contacting both sellers, discuss the situation with them, and see if you can get replacement for the batteries AND atomizers.

Mailed Simon during the week, but he is away until Friday.

Got back-up batteries and atomisers for my DSE901 today so will be using them instead. Well, both batteries are brown bread... but, as Apo pointed out - the atomiser could be to blame, so aint gonna risk sticking the new batteries into it.

Besides, I'm too busy blowing the head off myself with the Shimmer!

Everything must go. Out with the old, in with the new:D
