Test done and... success !!!

I replaced the spring, keeping the original SS cap and no more heat ! So the original spring itself is resistive

The SS cap have no central plot, so we can't use others Vamos thinner spring in it, I used this spring with a little modification at the base to fit in the Vamo : Indulgence bottom cap

You're awesome man :) Yeah I've confirmed it is in fact the spring as well causing all the issues.

Even Todd discovers and talks about it during his review: SS VAMO V2 - vapeescape.co.uk - YouTube

Thanks again guys! Wish there was an easy local place to go get a spring at instead of having to order that cap from China. Does anyone know of a US site that has something we can use??? And they charge $17 shipping!!!!

I noticed smoktek no longer has these listed as "in stock." I had placed an order lastnight (when they were in stock) before discovering this thread. I sent an email to see if one was still being sent to me or if they're in the process of checking out the issues that were previously indicated. I'll update with any response.

So is the Helix spring a definite fix? Unless I missed it, people have them ordered, but no one has actually tried it yet?

My Vamo won't be delivered until next week so I have no idea if mine will be a problem unit, but if the Helix is a definite fix, I will order one now from AvidVapor, just in case.

This post indicates that their Helix spring works. Alt.smoke now has the Silver Bullet/Omega - Replacement Hot Spring back in stock. That's the one I use in my chrome VAMO. I never took out the original wimpy spring and pulled out the base of the hot spring just a tad so it doesn't fall out when I toke off the battery cap. Works perfectly for me.

I've also replaced the wider spring that came in my stainless steel VAMO with the SB hot spring since HC put up their notice. It's also working as expected but the original did as well.

Someone also posted that a Provari spring worked. Provape sells extra springs on their site.

where can i get a replacement spring? i just ordred a SS Vamo from health cabin about a week or so ago, i'm pretty ...... to be honest.

People have reported having success with these springs. Both springs need to be pulled out a bit on the bottom to make them large enough to stay in the VAMO battery end cap when it is removed.
HeliX hot spring
Silver Bullet/Omega - Replacement Hot Spring - now back in stock

My SS Health Cabin VAMO has the wider spring but has not had the hot spring/battery end cap issue. I don't know if I lucked into a good run (purchased on 12/17) or if there are just some bad springs here and there mixed into all the runs. Health Cabin is being proactive in stating there is a problem and will be offering a fix. I think that is about as good as one can expect from any seller of Chinese manufactured items.

That's the price you pay for being an early adopter :)

I ordered a spring from the UK today, since I live in Europe:
Silver Bullet - Hot Spring

I have the SS VAMO with the wider spring from Health Cabin. The bottom cap gets warm not hot, but after reading the warning I unscrewed the cap after taking 3 long drags on a low resistance carto, and the spring was actually too hot to touch.

Noted. Thanks for the info.

I'm going to put in an order now. Worst case scenario; my Vamo doesn't even need it, and I have an extra spring.:D

EDIT: Just read in another thread that the vendor who I ordered my Vamo from has just found out about the spring issue, and is probably going to replace them before shipping.:toast:

My stainless steel Vamo is fixed. I got my copper (Helix) springs from Avid Vaper. Stretched the bottom of the spring out a tiny bit, and it fits nice and snug. The spring doesn't even get warm, I don't have my multimeter to test for zero resistance but my bet is it'd be zero.

Now if only my display on my Vamo wasn't wonky.

My SS VAMO started lagging Sunday night, no apparent heat from the cap but I don't chain vape. Using the cap from my gunmetal vamo eliminates the lagging issue. I ordered 4 springs from avidvaper along with some other goodies. I will contact smoktek although they still haven't responded to me about another non related issue I emailed them about last week.
