My stainless steel Vamo is fixed. I got my copper (Helix) springs from Avid Vaper. Stretched the bottom of the spring out a tiny bit, and it fits nice and snug. The spring doesn't even get warm, I don't have my multimeter to test for zero resistance but my bet is it'd be zero.

what about the materials? Then the 'good' spring should be made of copper? I am waiting for my SS Vamo as well and don't know where to buy it from Europe so I'll search them in the local market as well.

Ah maybe this was why I keep getting huge lag for my coils to get hot on my terminator using ss mesh. This whole time I have been rebuilding coils over and over and kept wondering why my coils wouldn't heat up as fast as when I used mesh in my vivi nova using my old ego twists. My ss vamo gets pretty hot at the bottom and since it's my first apv I thought it was normal :p ill have to try and get a different spring and see if it makes a difference I guess...

The ProVari spring is definitely not suitable as a replacement for the version 2 Vamo spring. I've stretched it out and made it work, but there's some battery rattle. There's got to be much better options available. The vamo spring is on the left, the ProVari on the right:

Just got my SS Vamo from Smoktek as well as a couple springs from Altsmoke. The SS Vamo came with that thicker spring, so I didn't even bother using it until I replaced the spring. So far, everything's working perfectly fine. Not noticing any real warmth on the cap. As much as I like the look of my black chrome (and haven't had any issues with it), it's going to run backup duty.

I got a reply from smoktek support and they said they received "new" springs and they'll send it to me on my next order. I'll be ordering new tanks soon so hopefully their new springs work!

Just an update, my new order from Smoktek was shipped today. I put in my comments to send me the new spring with this order. I hope the spring arrives with my order like they said it would. I also hope that the spring that they send me is in fact a new one and fixes the problem. :fingerscrossed:

This spring works perfectly and the batteries seem secure enough to me though I haven't really shook the crap out of it.
AvidVaper Helix Hot Spring

You will need to tweak the first round of the spring out a bit to make it snug in a v2 cap but after that it works a charm.

Good to hear. That's exactly the spring I ordered.:D

That is great to hear cyclotron. I heard back from Healthcabin and they are sending the new spring, but via China mail....and 20-40 days to receive. Terrible customer service since my Bamboo came via DHL in 4 days. They just lost me as a customer.
You seriously expect them to pay DHL Shipping for a 5 cent spring? They voluntarily recalled the springs and took immediate steps to correct the issue (before most U.S. vendors, even). They just retained me as a customer for life, thank you very much.

I have a chrome vamo from Smok without those issues. V2. I do have a measured 0.5 second delay from pressing the fire button before it starts hitting and continues for 0.5 seconds after I let go of the button.

Not sure why - it always hits hard for me. I would assume the delay is there so you're not firing 5 times in rapid succession when trying to turn the unit OFF.

That's my guess. It hits just fine tho.

No warm cap on mine.

Got the " new" spring from smoktek but unfortunately same results. The spring they sent me looked exactly like the one I had on my SS vamo. I told them that the new spring didn't work and I suggested a brass one instead. I also told them about what health cabin is doing with their Vamo units so hopefully it'll give them an idea on how to resolve it. I hope they listen.

Hey all,

Just got my Vamo from The Digital Cig, immediately I had the firing delay and I had the HOT spring (not warm Hot).

I removed the spring and ordered a replacement from Alt Smoke BUT for now I put a temp spring from a mini high end flashlight and it completely removed the issues. This spring was the same size but firmer, the cap went on slightly tight but it's working like a champ!
