I have a 510/801 adapter and it is giving me a really really tight draw. It's so tight I am getting little to no vapor.. Is there any way to fix this or a new one I can get that would produce more enviable results?

If it is a sealed connector it may not have an air hole. Unscrew it slightly to see.
