Hi Everybody, I bought a "like new" V3 as advertised in the classifieds here on ECF. It is a great looking unit. I have had it one day now. It worked for a few hours and then started firing off when locked.
Very unsafe and wonder if anyone has an idea of what is going on with it? I gave more for it
than Puresmoker sells their bare bones V3 for as it had 2 batteries, 2 attys and a charger.
My question is "What in the World is wrong with this unit?" Scarey to me
that I could have burned my house down if I were not right with it.

I was just curious.. I haven't really looked into springs in general, but if the spring is the usual culprit, maybe there's something that'll work that's not gonna cause a short if crooked?

I always make sure my spring is seated right, and only change batteries from the adapter end...

We could add a plastic piece to the top of the spring, however, if it falls off, the user would have to take off the switch and adjust it as need be :) lol ...

If a piece of material isn't clamped down (like in the fast of our plastic pieces on the bottom of the switch - they are screwed in place) many people including myself will lose it.

Another simple idea is to add a dot of crazy glue on each side of the small canal the spring sets in. Set it in there straight once, and it will never get cocked :) It might be a bear to replace if you ever need to get the glued one out, but I think its possible :)
