Howdy y'all!

Because of some peer pressure from my wife, ("Propolene Glycol is still a chemical! You shouldn't be inhaling that stuff!") I've branched into VG e-liquids. So far, though, I'm pretty darned disappointed. If I fill a cart with it, I have to top it off a LOT sooner than I do if I use PG juice. But if I drip it, it feels like I get a puff or two and then the vapor goes dead. Either that, or it leaks out the battery end of the atty. Does VG juice really suck this bad?

Peace!

...and toothpaste, mouthwash, lipstick, chapstick, I wouldn't be suprised if its even in velveeta mac & cheese!

Maybe your atty is flooded/gunky. When I made the switch to vg I gunked the hell out of my atty. Blow it out really well, and put a few [2-5] drops of distilled water to your e-liquid mix and you should see lots and lots of fluffy clouds of glorious vape!

I like chemicals. We kinda need them.

Anyway, it could be a function of the particular juice you're using instead of the VG itself. Cignot's Dekang-sourced VG ("Other VG" on their site) always behaved differently, to me, from the other VG or part-VG juices I've used. I didn't have the kinds of problems you're having, but the vapor was disappointing and the juice was unusually thin for VG.

(If you're in the mood to try other all-VG options, there's Vermont Vapor, JuicyLiquid's Juicy Juicepaks, or Rath juice from Electronicstix. Also MyFreedomSmokes and DIYFlavorShack can make VG-based juices if you specify, though the flavors contain PG. I prefer a blend for a nice mix of vapor, flavor, and throat hit, but these are all well-reviewed.)

I'm not a big fan of the Dekang (Boge) VG from Cignot.. but I simply love the ECOpure that I get from them.

Whoa, Im not either! I thought it was just me, but the vapor production from those little Dekang "VG" s is like less than their PG stuff. I just don't get it. Its harsher too than other VG. It just simply doesn't really behave "VGish"

If you get bored, you might find it entertaining to sift through her beauty products setting aside any that contain Propylene Glycol. I bet you'd both be surprised to find out how common it is.

Done that. Her reply? "Just because you can eat it and put it on your skin doesn't mean you can breathe it!" *sigh*

See, now, I tried the ECOpure VG Menthol, and I felt that it had NO flavor whatsoever. Made me sad.

As for other companies, I'll check them out. My big three flavors right now are methol, 555, and coffee (mixing 555 and coffee makes it come out hazlenutty, and I dig it hardcore!). So, once I vape through the 20ml bottles I got from cignot, I'll check out one of those others. Thanks y'all!

As a VG vaper myself, I love it but it is more temperamental then PG. I love VG because of the lessened throat hit, I was a hookah smoker so the smoke after if was chilled with a cooler and ran through ice water was cold and smooth. Closest thing to that was VG. Problem with VG is that its MUCH thicker and because of this it gunks up the attys. I normally twice a day spend 5-10 min and 2 paper towels blowing out the atty into the paper towels till I cant hear any more juice inside and cant blow anything more into the paper towel. It makes the atty like brand new again. If you don't blow it out, it will almost completely stop working. Basically if it sizzles, its good, if it bubbles, its bad. Good advice to go on, trust me. Best of luck!

What you are describing is not in inherent problem with VG. PG can and will do the exact same thing.

What you are describing is a near-flooded condition. Your atty is simply running far too wet.

What are you talking about? VG is thicker is all I was saying, I wasn't saying PG doesn't gunk up attys.

How is my atty flooded? Its running absolutely great since the day I got it which is about a week n a half ago. My atty isn't flooded or far too wet, I was just describing the best I can to the OP what a gunked up flooded atty would sound like. Which I don't think was bad advice in my opinion.

I agree with the EcoPure lovers. I've had a lot of really bad VG juice. Johnson Creek had great VG juice, when they use to carry it :( Since they quit, EcoPure in the Fresh/Pure and an occasional bit of Menthol is all I use. I just buried an 510 atty I used for 8 months and I only drip. EcoPure is just worth the extra money for me.

Hey there,

I am not sure about which works better between PG and VG, but I did find an interesting article that you may want to read. If nothing else, it will give you a counterpoint to the "All chemicals are bad!!!" viewpoint.

--There used to be an URL here-- See below

TLDR; on that article is that PG can be used as an airborne germicide, and will kill things like influenza and other bacteria. This study was done nearly 70 years ago, so it isn't new information.

Further, PG exists in tobacco products anyway. You have been smoking it for as long as you have been smoking tobacco.

Just wanted to pitch $.02 out there.

J

EDIT: Seems like I can't post urls yet. You can find that article on the time website.

The EcoPure English Toffee is just awesome!

To the OP: Mention to your wife that PG has been used in fog machines forever (talk about huge amounts of vapor), not to mention used by hospitals in their ventilation systems to help kill airborne bacteria.

So the next time she is in the hospital she should hold her breath...lol :) (j/k)

Never mind. You have it all figured out. Carry on.

Sheesh.
